  1. Yeah. I think I'd have been better off if I'd played defensively all season. But not to worry. If I do get relegated, I think the future should still be bright for getting back up again. I have three good players under 20 who should hopefully have done some serious improving by then.
  2. Eh? We're very much in the relegation zone!
  3. Knackers, well I think United are pretty much definitely down now. Although its always possible that Traansvaal will screw up against us, giving us some sort of lifeline, I don't think we can get any sort of result vs Arcadia or VolNation. Time to start planning for life back in the Segunda... And what about that VolNation result? 5-0 up at half time against the Duckies, who were one place ahead in the table?
  4. Surely we are just doing in CyberNations what the real world will eventually do. After all, the real world hasn't managed to get Moon or Mars colonies yet!
  5. Funnily enough, I have had a similar situation - did really well with bruise last year, but struggled this year. Things have picked up a little since turning bruise off. Edit: when I say year, I mean season, but of course you knew that.
  6. Ruler name: Kevinho Country: Kevodia Nation Link: http://www.cybernations.net/nation_drill_d...ation_ID=171439 Do you have a stadium? 5 of them, but Wooley Drive is the National Stadium I think its good that you are organising such a league as the old international competition appears to have fallen apart, but it does sound as though home teams may just end up winning all the time. Anyway Kevodia is onboard.
  7. Meanwhile Keville grind out a draw with Athletico with a rematch next week. Keeps our hopes alive though if can just keep breathing down Transvaal's neck. And if we can stop giving silly penalties and set pieces away. PremierApex, is there any way to change X11's scheduling so you don't get this double fixture mid-season? I don't know why the fixture list doesn't just start from the top again as it would in a real league.
  8. Well looks like my team is probably shafted. I seem to be doing so badly in x11 lately. Bah...
  9. And it would be nice to hear more chatter about the lower divisions.
  10. Yeah, I think the write up is very entertaining. Welcome to Professional Football Pravus, don't you have a thick skin? Anyway hopefully that means a win for me this week as I usually win when I predicts I lose and vice versa.
  11. Bah, couldn't get to a 3 goal margin against S-Team. Voobah are a tricky team for me, its true, as I didn't manage to beat them in the Segunda.
  12. I don't think its possible to stress the benefit of well timed form training enough. As soon as someone's form starts to go horizontal or worse, form train them. You have a budget of E1m a week, spend it. You can also get some extra funds by making press releases. In terms of getting your team to play better think about what sort of players you have and in what department you are strongest, and play to your strengths. Minilla's team looks like it is much stronger in midfield than elsewhere. To me it screams 4-5-1 or maybe even 3-5-2. Either way you need to feed balls up to Geoff Galloway, who looks like a great striker - far better than any of your other forwards.
  13. Cupset alert. Ooops. Not sure what went wrong there...
  14. Surely the same name every season would be more prototypical? But the hosting idea is interesting. Though I tend to find it a bit silly when people claim their nation has ten 50,000 plus seater stadiums when their population would be lucky to fill one stadium. D'oh, last week beat Traansvaal but this week shared the honours with Swamplandia Sinners. Pretty even match in terms of chances but think I was unlucky not to edge it looking at the stats. Still keeps me in the points and thats what I need.
  15. Tbh I've been 'concentrating on the league' for the last few weeks, so the cup has barely tickled my interest. Well done Volnation. I see the first round draw for the next cup is out - Keville to play S Team, on the 21st. S-Team are currently first in the Tercera so they can't be mugs, even if their all round strength is only 5.
  16. Its amusing how one win over Transvaal has boosted Keville in the pundit's eyes from being no-hoper relegation fodder to potential world beaters. Perhaps even title outsiders. There's a lot to be said for quiet belief in your team. Arcadia's predicted end table is interesting but we still have a long way to go in reality (only 3 out of 16 games played) with a lot of potential twists and turns. For instance, the big 3 could still mathematically end up as the bottom 3. Seriously though, I think the big 3 will be up there still but it does seem unlikely that the Boks will be able to defend their title. As for my team, I think we will do better at home and away, especially against teams better than us. And keeping the form up remains key.
  17. Sure, but it still seemed a surprisingly weak performance from the champions. I did find it interesting that you used a 4-3-3, especially as mine cancelled its effects out...
  18. If that was a hard time, I look forward to the easy ones. I always knew that United would break through sometime. To do it against the 'Boks, who barely troubled my defence, well...
  19. Nope, just learned it from the match report. I'm confident that the wins will start to come soon. I was pointless at this time last season too, and obviously the move up a level makes life much harder, as well as the managers actually being active in this division. But I'll keep plugging away. Transvaal better watch out
  20. Fair point, but your offensive score was only 6 when mine was 7, though maybe thats because you played only one striker. Learning about this game all the time...
  21. Bah, trust Arcadia to come out and defend so rigidly against us that we couldn't even get one shot on goal. According to the statistics their midfielders and attackers barely turned up.
  22. Ageing squad? My defence is relatively older, but my midfielders and strikers are quite young - infact my best striker, and last season's highest Segunda points scorer Ted Rotenston is only 21. I may have 6 players in their 30s, but they are all there because they can still cut it; I also have a pro youth policy and have 3 teenagers on the books - I'd have more if there wasn't a squad size limit. My big signing the other day, Rene Lobadov, might be 34 but he is there to shore up a defence which is going to have a tough time this season, and he seems like a good signing for the cost even if I only get a season or two out of him. Besides, the best defenders are always the most experienced.
  23. Well kept the Arcadia damage down to 2-0, and one of those was scored from a set piece. Only problem was our forwards not quite able to penetrate the Arcadian defence. We def put up a fight though - 6 yellow cards in one game must be some sort of record. Amazing that there were no sending offs. Well time to concentrate on the league next - Volnation away on Friday. Not going to get any easier this!
  24. Well firstly Kevodian sportsmen are fearless. Arcadia FC are only 1 point stronger than us overall and our form level is the same. I see it as a chance to see how well we can match up against one of the bigger clubs. Don't underestimate us - we gave Transvaal a good game in last season's cup. Anyway, every game is a learning experience.
