    The posts following his first one were definitely ad hom attacks. However, the post where he talked about your 13000 posts, that's up in the air. You said it was an ad hom attack, which is a reasonable conclusion; but one could make the case that that particular post wasn't. Or if it was, it was a rather tame one. I apologize I can't quote or write appropriately; but I am using my cellphone.

    No Sir, it's an attack on your credibility to make such an argument. And its perfectly valid to address the credibility of the a person presenting a view point. Do you disagree?

    from my understanding, "ad hominem" is not just an attack on character is an attack on an irrelevant characteristic. Since the premise of your OP was that people were crying for attention and shouldn't be. I attacked the credibility of your character by pointing out that you had 13,000 posts (many many times your average poster).

    Anyway, Ad hominem is not just a simple attack on a arguers credibility, its an irrelevant attack on arguers credibility. Post count, in argument about attention whoring is not irrelevant.

    Best post in ages! The typical alliance mentality is boring, thats one of the reason we started BACoN a few weeks ago. After doing the alliance ring for a few years, we decided to make a group with more lulz, less logic, and less drama.

    oh good, ad hominem attacks, the mark of any quality response.

    I f you want to use esoteric latin debating terminology to sound clever and logically superior then at least, understand what constitutes an ad hominem response.

    here another example of an argument, that does not employ the ad hominem fallacy but is structuraly similar to my original response

    Lamuella feels he is logically superior, and will use esoteric Latin terms that most are likely unfamiliar with to demonstrate this quality. However, Lamuella lacks a proper understanding of the terms he employs, and is thus wrong. Lamuella should get of his high horse, and stop trying to be both an authority on logic and post quality. I find it funny that he is making such attempts.

    you know what I find funny? You don't care? Well to bad! Imma tell you anyways.

    I find it funny that people get so uptight about forum posting. Its a public forum, the idea is to post your thoughts and ideas, so what if its original or unoriginal. its kind of annoying to read 800 page threads.

    By your logic we can have one thread, entitled "Current Events on Planet Bob" and we can all post in that.

    Forums are a vehicle to express your thoughts and ideas with other community members, just as you are doing here, so get off your high horse and enjoy the show.

    PS. For someone with 13,000 posts I also find it funny that you are claiming that other people are seeking attention on these forums.
