Not really. The optional doesn't mean to avoid fights. ODN just do whatever they (or MK, C&G, but not the point) want despite treaties. Thats what the optional means. This was true years ago and is still true now.

ITT Sparta reminds me why I am very glad we are no longer allies.

Very interesting....NPO is beefing up their FA Dept big time. Add to that the fact Brehon has gone radio silence on Bootleg and what does it all tell you? For starters, they don't need to increase FA because nobody give's a big rat's ass if they hit us or not. As for bootleg, Brehon knows damned well that if I start ranting about things it will put a big PR hit on him. Once again, nobody cares Brehon so do a radio show and let me speak cowboy!!!

::yawn::. When the modern ODN goes and runs away from a war you can mock us. Until then, I call hot air. We have repeatedly sacrificed pixels for our allies. And will do so in the future.

I also dont feel the need to chest thump. If I can limit damage to my alliance (*and* my allies) by getting people in to help us... im going to do it. If you wouldnt do the same for GOD you deserve to be run out of your alliance imo. If your complaint is that ODN tried to pull in people to help us fight in the last war... then excuse me while i eye roll. We did. And I also promise you we will do so again next war (omg! breaking news!) As an alliance leader my *job* is to attempt to have as much strength on my side and as little on my enemies as possible.

Whether I succeed in that goal or not will not impact one whit how long ODN stays in a war or whether we go into a war. Optional Defense Network is very 2008. But I also see no need to pretend to be macho and act like I dont want to win. Wanting to win does not equal being afraid to take damage or lose.

This just in: if you don't martyr yourself, you're evil.

    Ding ding ding.

Welcome to ten pages ago when I was discussing how INT gets no respect.

Y'know, I wonder how CnG would react if it was a different old friend tied to one of us that made the "stupid move." What if it was TPE ODN? Or DiCE TLR? Or IAA GATO? See the problem here isn't that it was LSF, it was all about numbers and you were cowards because you didn't think we could win. Calling them stupid is just a copout to this fact.

    I'm done with this thread.
I'd be rather surprised if TPE did this. They disbanded and merged into ODN a while ago.

But if they had, I imagine they would have been smart enough to wait to see if CnG would back them up before jumping off a building.

Without Admin, there is no Planet Bob. Admin is responsible for Planet Bob. Admin is responsible for the death of this treaty.

Yep, you could definitely say that, and it makes logical sense.

Except the situations are completely different. It's like saying (OOC: if the British don't tax the colonies without representation, then there's no War in Iraq).

Another post from another Int ally trying to cloud the water. What is being discussed here is not blame for the war. We have at no point tried to blame anyone for the war with NoR, other than NoR for having the audacity to exist.

The discussion is about the decision of the LSF to cancel our treaty with Int because they said one thing and did another. It's not rocket science and should really have never been more than 10 posts long. Instead we get the comedy gold of various Int members and their allies posting drivel about the constitution of their alliance and contrary claims about who knew what, when.

In short we have 16 pages and counting of confirmation that our decision to cancel was entirely correct.

Without the war, there is no cancelation. You are responsible for the war. You are responsible for the death of this treaty.

CnG and The International should follow this man advice.
You're right. I take full responsibility for what ODN and CnG did. We told Int that we had their backs, no matter what they did, but told them LSF were trying to play all of us like a fiddle, and that going into this war was a tremendously bad idea.

    Guilty.

  8. Now that a) currently out of government and b) LSF and Int are no longer allied, I feel like I can freely say I am glad Int and LSF are no longer allied. LSF, you are a horrible alliance. You've displayed a level of incompetence not seen around these parts since Peggy Sue ran UPN, or when GGA grew fat on Pacifica's teat. I am truly disappointed that NoR did not disband you out of pity. You have brought all of this down upon yourself. You have seen your own alliance sacked, savaged and burned to the ground. Not only that, you have allowed your (now former) ally to suffer public condemnation while you, and you alone, are to blame. Your pride, your stupidity and your arrogance are what caused this. Int are not at fault for you immolating yourselves.

Take some responsibility for your actions.

    tl;dr

Look, when ODN refuses to back my alliance up in a war, I'll let you know you've won this argument. Until that happens, I will stand by my friends and allies in the Network as they have stood beside me. The goal of ODN and the goal of BFF are the same goal, and to call ODN out for their will to survive is rather foolish. Times change, and I know that ODN would ride to hell and back for my alliance much the same way we would for them. You don't have to agree with their policies, you don't have to agree with their placement in the treaty web, and you certainly don't have to agree with their posters (I lol'd btw, wes). Hell, you'd be a fool to walk away from this argument today agreeing with me because our politics differ so greatly. But the one thing you cannot rightfully say, the one thing I will not accept from you, is the accusation that my allies in ODN are cowards. I may not agree with everything STA does, but I would never dare call them cowards because I know it simply is not true.

It is extremely frustrating when a war isn't fought on an even footing, MCXA. I get that. I do not believe the staggered duels to be intentional, and even if they were, they are a thing of the past. Let's move forward, get to our rebuilding, and wait in the wings for the next !@#$%^&* CB to come rumbling across our planet so we can dance this dance once more. And when it does, we'll see who the real cowards are. We'll see which alliance is worth the pixels that make up their name. Until then, enough of the mudslinging and posturing.

Peace mode joke, followed by a "NO U!" post, if the next one is a "U MAD?" you make a combo.

    D34th post flow chart:

    1. Use CN trope that hasn't been relevant in at least 3 years.
    2. Uses "NO U" argument when called on irrelevance of said trope.
    3. Examines argument to make himself look intelligent.
