  1. Thank you for your well wishes, and we look forward to speaking with all of you there.

While we operated in neutrality under the Writ de Credo, Espernet served us well, as foreign relations were not a strong focus. Now that the Writ has been retired, and we more actively participate in Digiterran politics, Coldfront proves (mindless huggles and slaps notwithstanding) more convenient.

  2. No one, regardless of bad decisions made, deserves to have a thread devoted to how much they fail. I see where this is heading, so please let's be respectful, and see if we can keep our forums from yet another embarrassing foray into the depths.

EDIT: Thanks, Darth Revan, beat me to it.

  3. Well, this sucks.

Best of luck, Ender, I hope you reroll and continue the many friendships you have here. Plus, who is going to hang out in the gameplay forums now? I vote you come back and role play a noob and ask all the impossible to answer questions, join NSO and test their "coup if you can" philosophy, or any number of fun avenues upon reroll.

    Take care.

  4. As evidenced by everyone on the boards, as per my end of the surrender terms I had changed my avatar, had been complimenting RV in every post (in every single forum, not just the OWF) and had not attacked any member of Dynomite Pact or RV himself.

I for one will miss the hilarious RV compliments. You should keep them up, as they would have such delicious irony. In fact, I hope that it catches on CN-wide.

RV is a beacon that lights my dark path.

  5. I'm struggling to find an apt metaphor for a ZI nation with 1500 tech and 3 million casualties at at dance . . .

Perhaps you aren't finding a dance partner because you have *cough* gotten around a bit *cough*. Dancing with you is likely to lead to more than these young folk are looking for, including a possible trip to the free clinic. I think potential partners prefer a bit more of the girl next door and a bit less of the, well, professional. They can't handle you . . .

  6. Point made. Karma was only unified for the war, and only then it didn't come together until late in the game (thus NPO's willingness to strong arm OV). It had been rumbling about for a while (tC alliances dropping slowly over time, the aborted formation of the Bastion bloc), but it was never - not during the slow formation of the loose alliance of interests, not at the eve of war - fully unified. Even full MDP or MDoAP blocs have cracks, and Karma was a loose association of alliances, some of whom don't particularly care for one another.

I think a more interesting discussion would be where the current centers of power are in this multipolar world, and how those centers of power are interconnecting and potentially in conflict. Citadel, SF, Chestnut, LEO, Frostbite, CnG. There are some big names - former hegemony names, floating about looking for a new polarity . . .

  7. With other cancellations recently, it's clear ODN is cleaning up their treaties. And with this one particularly, it seems ODN is working hard - even sacrificing a classic bond - to get a consistent, unified foreign policy. Regardless of one's feelings towards the history of the treaty or the merits of Legion, it looks to me like more proof of the burial of "Optional Defense Network" and the forging of a treaty web less likely to create future treaty conflicts for ODN. A move telling of character, imho.

Congratulations to ODN for their efforts, and best of luck to both parties going forward.

  8. Blackwater is the military arm of the Order of the Black Rose. Blackwater boasts one of the top nation strength averages in the game, bested by few, including the Order of the Black Rose, who sits at #2. Blackwater members also enjoy some of the best military training in Digiterra, with regular exercises and live fire part of the training. You will learn in Blackwater under some of the best tutors. Join us, if you think you can handle our basic training.

  9. OOC: For the record, America isn't attacking Australia because Australia has commercials on American television. In fact, they're pretty much letting them air it. :) /OOC

Issue was the aggression, lack of respect, etc. imho. OOC response: If Australia aired TV commercials calling America pathetic and impotent, passionless, etc. and asked American to give up their citizenship and join a real country, the shizzle would hit the fan. And speaking of FAN, I suspect they would personally launch an assault on Australia, OOC guns blazing. :P

  10. A very poor analogy. A better one would be offering someone a job who works for a different company.

. . . by calling their current company restrictive and muzzling, pathetic and impotent, daring the company involved to do something about it, then whining about overreaction when they do.

I suspect the reason so many consider recruiting messages taboo is b/c of the potential for misrepresentation, insults and negativity in the message focused on the wrongs of the targeted alliance, like the NSO message, leading to intra-alliance tensions. The one sent in this OP was respectful and focused on his own alliance. I think if they were all like that, there wouldn't be a ton of outcry.
