  1. Why, how dare you accuse us of being so devious!

While the Grand Global Alliance is proud of it's sanction status, it is not a factor that we focus on. However, since we have it, we would like to hold on to it. The thing I absolutely love is Vox being so free with their espionage plans that they even allow us enough time to react. When your fighting Vox Populii, who needs an army...they do enough to beat themselves for us.

  2. Guys,

I have sent PM's to admin on this and they have responded to my requests. In the end, I think that I have found my answer here. I have played CN since March and have always played by the rules. My wife started her interest in CN about two months ago. She loves the game but is unable to play because if she was to sign up for an account it would violate a "one nation per network" policy. My wife is well known to alliances such as Valhalla, GGA, and Hyperion...I myself am triumvir of the GGA, and as I said, always played by the rules.

Today, my wife, who has a lot of IRC friends was told that she would not be able to have her own nation because it was on the same network. Now thanks to that rule...I am having a fight with her. She thinks that it is unfair and I agree. I would think that given the high availability of technology and the excellent programing ability of the senior staff that it could be discerned what is multi and what is legitimate. This arbitrary policy prohibits familes and friends from playing this game together when the live in the same house and such. It is wrong.

If me posting this gets me warned or banned then I guess that is what happens. I just do not understand why there cannot be a bit of fairness with what is suppose to be a game. I understand that their have to be rules...but it seems counter-productive to have rules that adversely affect someone's ability to play the game. What do people have to do to be treated fairly and be given a chance to play this game when ths "same network" is in effect?

I know that undoubtedly I will now be accused of just trying to have another nation myself...or a wide variety of other offenses...I have come to expect that from other players here. My wife has developed so many friends through this game on IRC, but yet she is not allowed to play with them...because we cannot both have a nation. Seems very unfair...and nobody seems to want to say so. So accuse me of whatever you wish...I am sure Vox and others will have fun with this...but this is how I feel, and I have tried to find a solution through PM. Since I have received no response, I am now posting here. It is my hope that at least Admin will look at this issue soon.

  3. GGA Friends,

You know, I got up this morning and heard that they were making me a triumvir...I decided I needed to have a drink and go back to bed. Thought it was a bad dream...but now I wake up and this announcement is still here. After a few shots of my good friend J.D. I think that I am ready to respond.

Kind of funny that this is happening considering some people think that I am just so unapproachable. I only got one thing to say to y'all that agree with that...I am much more friendly with a beer in hand! I prefer Bud Ice, and I like everyone to come over and talk to me...just make sure you pick up the beer first! :) If you wake me up from a good dream, then I am not responsible for my actions!

I look forward to working with the other triumvirs...DerekJones is fun...but degenerate's Canadian smell will take some getting use to...again...enough beer should take care of that. Thanks to all who have helped along the way...scotchwithrocks...your alcohol dependency has been a source of great strength for me! DerekJones...thank you for being the nerd so I don't have to be. Kwilliams, hah! It is my fondest hope that you find a man for yourself someday! YAM...I never liked the sweet potato thing...but you are alright. Degen...whoda thunk we'd both be here together...especially after my n00b MoDI remarks! ALdbeign...your guidance with MoF was essential...you are the only one here that had the opportunity to get me drunk IRL and missed it!!!!!!!!! Ironchef...you are a great friend but I want some lasagna on a weekly basis. BiG...thanks for your siggeh...but it looks like I may need you to do some more work for me!! Dephire...thanks...you know what for!

So what can you expect from me as a triumvir? Well the whole concept of my Regent's Command Staff is no longer necessary...so now we will have a bi-weekly kegger in secure. I think that we will all get much more accomplished that way. I am committed to building the strength of the alliance...no matter who I have to bribe along the way. Once in a while, we may get smashed...we can blame it all on Degen then since Canada's drinking age is a wee bit younger. Rest assured, though that I will continue to maintain a close working relationship with our allies.

Diplomacy is my strong point...because when I talk to our allied friends...I always bring beer and hamburgers...unless it is Moo...he doesn't like hamburgers for some odd reason. Sounds like a self-esteem issue but I am not quite sure yet. AlmightyGrub already likes to pick on me...but your day is coming my friend...your day is coming!

Seriously though, I love you all, I love this alliance, and I love beer! If we can work together, then we can all make this alliance even greater then it already is. I look forward to this new party! You are all invited...JUST BRING THE BEER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am thankful for this opportunity to serve the GGA as triumvir…lets all work together to make the GGA the best that it can be!!!!

  4. You know, initially I thought, "Oh, here we go again," but GGA seems to actually have a point this time. I'd urge them to make their point quickly and come to a swift, clean, non-extortive peace, though, as it doesn't sound like there's any malice here.

shane, it wouldn't hurt to look at your alliance from an outside point of view before belittling the honor of other alliances. GGA's not exactly painted itself as one of the more upstanding parts of CN in the recent past.

OOC: I guess I don't have to explain where 1's and 0's can be actual possessions. We've certainly all installed software, watched a movie, seen a piece of photoshop art, read a novel, or opened a bank account. I grant that a forum mask isn't on the same level as any of those, but your statement doesn't differentiate. However, I do think that, regarding forums, some of the larger alliances get away with way more than should be permitted. I'd say, for instance, that any surrender terms including forum access (especially administrative access), are clearly extortive in nature. I apologize for getting off track, but it seems I can drum up more interest over this one point than the entirety of the rest of this thread. ;)

You know...to say that the GGA has painted itself as a less then upstanding member of CN is just plain ludicrous. We are a very welcoming alliance, a very tolerant alliance. I do not know of a single government member who prefers war to peace. With that said, just how much should the alliance have to take. Repeated requests for information go ignored...incredibly ridiculous amounts of time elapse and then finally we act. Nothing more and nothing less then any other alliance on Bob would do. I am proud to be a part of the GGA and can proudly say that we hold to a creed of honesty and integrity. Just because some other alliance may disagree with that, I am sorry. I do apologize for the offense, but I do not apologize for who we are or what we do. Friendly relations with the GGA are quite simple...talk to us...and don't tech raid...don't mess with our friends. It is quite simple and I am amazed at how that simplicity is lost on people. Long Live the Alliance.

  5. Now I don't mean to argue this hear, but considering GGA is an alliance that practices tech raiding, isn't it a little hypocritical to say that tech raiding is bad and should be practiced less in the future? Please correct me if I am wrong, but I am a little confused by this statement.

The GGA does not condone tech raiding aligned nations and never will...

  6. Gatherum cleared his throat as he entered the thread and smiled sarcastically, putting his hands up.

Now wait just one minute, back up.

You are attacking this group, the International Tribal Alliance, because they "expelled" the member you had a problem with, but did not "de-mask" him on their private boards.

[OOC]While I am never one for crying "OOC", as I believe that if one is OOC attacked, one should realize that this is the internet, refrain from !@#$%*ing or getting butthurt about it, and move on[/OOC], I have to wonder how the Grand Global Alliance has a say in the activities, including who is masked and de-masked, on a forum that they do not have ownership of.

    Further...

    1. You have enacted your retribution upon this single member, and likely reaped ample reparation by force.

    2. The GGA did not clarify in the first place that it was a term to de-mask the member, again, on a forum you do not own.

    3. Whereas, if this were a larger alliance that the GGA was leading an assault against, one might assume that they spun another false CB, but I will spare the GGA that arguement, given the size and insignificance of the ITA. It is no global power, no large influence within the treaty web, and, if I have it correctly, virtually unheard of, before now. I suppose I imply, unavoidibly, that the GGA is bloodthirsty and aggressive with this question, but why is it that the GGA is so eager to destroy the ITA? There is no strategical value, nor any real financial gain to be had in this move, and it seems a rather extreme measure for a mere Tech-Raid, where other nigh-identical incidents have found much more friendly resolutions than this.

I will admit, I do not particularly care for the GGA's well-being. Any nation attacking them is, by extension, indirectly aiding Vox Populi, as a result. Still, to retaliate against the entire alliance seems...overkill, to me.

Gatherum left the confines of the thread and sat down upon his stone, relaxing his demeanor, yet still at attention.

WOW!!! Let me give this some thought a moment...maybe I will ask the GGA to change it's mind because of the opinion of an HONORABLE and FAIR member of Vox Populi...oooh...wait...I am sorry...I forgot...that is like the tooth fairy...Only exists in imagination.

  7. - Not on their forums.

    - OP says Upon checking the validity of this claim this evening, we discovered this:. I gathered from that he was kicked out today. You didn't feel like saying otherwise until about two seconds ago, which makes me doubt it.

    - I heard it's healthy with milk.

    - Or not.

I'm not playing the poor ITA card, I'm playing the "stupid GGA" card.

Then may us leaders at the GGA take heart that our intelligence is not determined by the great Sargun...but I would really get a refund on that deck of cards.

  8. It takes less than a minute to send a message saying "he needs to be de-masked or consequences" or something along those lines.

Well, there were consequences....and I LIKE them. I so wish that you would get on the band wagon and help with the naughty alliance spanking that they earned. Tech raiding = bad...I am a broken record now. Thanks for that!

  9. No, the next logical step is to tell them to de-mask the player from the forums. It's readily apparent that they don't go on the boards very much at all and didn't consider it of importance, or they had a comm. error or just plain out forgot.

I am sorry that you disagree with the alliance's decision in this. However, tech raiding = bad...and this will discourage people from doing so in the future.

  10. You sure they just didn't remove his mask on the forum? Honestly I doubt this alliance is that involved in things. Chances are the forums are quite inactive, so they may not have realized the importance of demasking him. I'm sure they meant no offense to you, and this is nothing more than a simple error due to their lack of understanding of politics and how things work.

Now I mean not to make any accusations, but I do believe questions need to be asked.

No questions need to be asked...you tech raid you meet more of our friends...it is quite simple actually.

  11. So Chey, you decide to DoW on one Valhalla nation and one GGA nation. Out of 500 some odd alliance nations, I am the lucky person who draws the lucky straw for the GGA. Interesting that you decided to hit the GGA Minister of Finance....ah well...have a happy road to ZI.

  12. Kuru,

While being fairly new to Cybernations myself, I come to you with the most urgent of matters. Your continued presence on Planet Bob is urgently needed. Your decision to leave has disenfranchised my friend Prodigy. Prodigy is now considering the sum of his Cyber Life as well. He has made a list of six demands that will make him stay:

1.) Porn...the easiest one to meet.

2.) Virgins...talking to the local nunnery already.

    3.) Beer...in the mail

    4.) Cookies...have them all over.

5.) Guns...I will get one somewhere.

6.) Kuru must stay...work in progress.

So you see Kuru....I need you to stay...because if you don't I may cry. Don't make me cry...:(

Please just kick it with us here at GGA for a while longer....PPPLLLEEEAAAZZZZEEE????
