  1. We are honored to offer you such protection as may be needed. I predict this Fellowship will grow into a solid alliance in a short time. Best of luck in your journey.

The Road goes ever on and on

Down from the door where it began.

Now far ahead the Road has gone,

And I must follow, if I can,

    Pursuing it with eager feet,

Until it joins some larger way

Where many paths and errands meet.

And whither then? I cannot say.

  2. Wow, this thread has gotten a wee bit of attention.

First of all, I want to offer my best wishes to IRON as they emerge from the terms of surrender. We certainly had a few issues along the way regarding terms compliance, but in the end, all matters (principally regarding Articles 5 and 7) were resolved.

There's been a great deal of discussion here about Article 10. I don't want to belabor it further, but let me make it clear, while it was written in a lighthearted manner, and dealt with factors outside the game, it had serious purpose. The AUT and Letumn hit on a portion of that purpose; an attempt to foster communication and some measure of goodwill between members of our alliances. More importantly, it was "the canary in the mine"; a way for us to learn whether IRON was going to cooperate in the military and economic aspects of the treaty, or if they were going to test our patience and willingness to enforce those terms. The course they chose quickly became apparent. It is a legitimate course of action, and as one IRON gov member pointed out, it is the job of the victor, not the vanquished to administer surrender terms. Our decision to make public their tardiness in fulfilling Article 10 was a consequence of IRON's chosen terms compliance strategy. More importantly, it worked, not only in completing Article 10 requirements, but in helping to clear up well over 100 violations of Articles 5 and 7.

IRON is now free of all obligations under terms of the surrender. It is an honorable alliance. And the majority of IRON's members of good folk. I for one will not let the actions of a very few individual cloud my opinion of this most interesting group of nations.

    Best wishes IRON.

  3. Oh................ my aching head..................

    Wait! What? WTF?!?

    We signed what?

Last thing I remember was it was a typical Council meeting and we were waiting for the pizza to be delivered . . .

We in Fark are excited to have an entire alliance of new drinking buddies. First round is on us! (palms the credit card he lifted from Asa Phillips' pocket.)
