  1. I agree about the FAFB losing some greatness.

Now it's 105 versus 85, as opposed to 80 versus 60. So FAFB advantage above your opponent has now been reduced by 10% (from 33% to 23%). It's worth taking note anyway, and perhaps some people's wonder order will change because of this.

  2. Navies. I expect hooge jumps in score for some alliances.

You're right, anyone who bought 5 carriers and the corresponding aircraft just jumped 1875 NS. But the NS added will be spread over the next couple weeks, as only 5 are bought per day...

  3. Number 1 is true. I remember getting to that point. I have too much land from wanting to claim so much in RP.

Number 1 is true. See my original post about actually buying the 10 land needed for me to pass that threshold, and my environment did get better.

(Note: If your environment is 1+GRL, then you won't see a difference, but what you will be able to do is destroy a border wall without an effect on environment)

  4. I'm glad you posted this. Number 1 I have heard before, but never had enough land to get near it. Today I saw I only needed 10 more miles of land in order to get the bonus, so I did that - and it increased my environment by 1! Thanks! (fyi the "land" is land with modifiers)

  5. PS: It was under discussion to narrow the declaration range anyway to stop the constantly 'stomping' of newbies which cannot fight back.

Not to sidetrack the thread, but I was also wondering about if this was going to happen anytime soon.

  6. One time forgetting to get rid of labor camps would lose you the same amount of money as you'd lose by not collecting on your anniversary. It's not a big thing to miss it, people think it is because it's symbolic or exciting, but really.

Don't delay your wonder clock. It's just not a good idea, and will hurt you in the long run.

  7. still no event for me :|

    Me neither

I had a good and a bad event, which essentially leaves me at -$2 income. I certainly dislike the implementation of events, as I was glad to see them gone to begin with. I fully intend to pay bills and collect taxes only when absolutely necessary.

I am beginning to think I should do the same. I am currently testing my luck by paying bills daily, but haven't gotten anything yet. Mebbe I'll do the once every 3 days thing.

  8. the problem is that although the events probably are about even good/bad, the people who get good events either don't say anything or don't see an issue with the event process (and why would they?), whereas the other half of people, the ones who get bad events exclusively, feel the need to complain on the CN forums (which is also understandable). However, for us reading on the forums, that gives the false impression that everyone is getting bad events, which is NOT TRUE - it's just that the people who get bad events are the people who are going to post in this topic...

I agree with that up to a point. Even if we take as a given the percentages are the same as admin told us, there seems to be a visible difference between the quality of the good events compared to the bad events. I have not heard of a +5 happiness event, nor even a +3 happiness event, yet I have heard of some pretty bad bad events (-5 happiness)

  9. Great update, and great commentary, fun to read! I was wondering if the script you're using to change it to that formatting can include the "+" (plus) signs in front of positive growth, as before. It makes it easier to look at, at a glance.

  10. Well, given Admin's obvious feelings about swapping, I wouldn't be surprised if the implementation was as suggested earlier in the thread.

I higher chance of getting a good event whilst collecting taxes and a higher chance of getting a bad event whilst paying bills. We'd have to wait for the number crunching for any confirmation though.

If he actually did do this, I would hope he would at least say something about there being a difference between them. If we don't know Collecting Taxes gets you better events, we won't stop improvement swapping, and we'll just keep thinking we get bad luck.

I don't think he would have made such a difference without saying anything.

  11. There are several ways to fix this problem (yes I believe there is a problem now, after looking at multiple dozens reports of events on several forums). The main points are:

    - Good events are not as good as bad events, on average. This needs to be addressed. It seems as if admin has reduced some of the happiness for good events from before, and increased the effects of negative ones, and added harsher negative events. Some increased benefit with good events may be required, or a change in % good vs % bad events.

    - The variation in event distribution is something else. Some people are getting several bad events, discouraging them from playing the game. I'm not saying negative events are bad, but when 1 nation gets so many of them, it isn't great for keeping people in the game. Especially new nations. To solve this: put a cap on the number of a specific event you can have. 3 good and 3 bad, max. So if you have 3 bad events, and when you collect you "get another bad one" it will not show up. Same goes for good events. And if you end up having 3 good, 3 bad, you won't be able to get any more until one expires. Some events can be almost neutral, so maybe a neutral can fill a "positive" or "negative" slot.

    - Young nations are affected by this the most. Old nations won't collect/pay bills daily, and thus won't get as many events. If the two prior points are looked into, then this one isn't a big problem.
