  1. No, there's not. You're saying some spying is ok and some spying is not ok. Spying is spying, whether you use your creativity to do it or do it the way someone laid it out for you to do ahead of time.

OOC: If you are invading someones forums, their personal property, to steal their information that they themselves compiled, that is wrong. A hell of a lot worse than "spying" away a nuke ingame.

Furthermore, you have to think about the actual amount of harm that is caused by the actions taken/intended. At most, running spy operations against an individual nation isn't going to cost them more than a few million dollars. However, by running an operation of this kind against an alliance, you jeopardize the sovereignty of the alliance and the safety of all members.

I hope that cleared it up for you.

  2. Athens has a track record for this kind of maliciousness. If there's one alliance that cybernations would be better off without, it is you.

Big talk coming from the constant 13th place guys. Open your damn eyes and read what's going on before you shrug it off as Athens being the next global hegemony. They have a reason, they are going to war, that's the end of the story. The only questions left now are if any of TPF's allies are willing to stand up for them or not.

  3. This is a really, really scary idea.

Suppose it holds true. Suppose your AA once committed a CB against some large sanctioned alliance. Nobody in your government now knows about it.

Does that alliance have a valid CB to use anytime from now until the end of time?

No, there has to be some kind of end to it.

Otherwise ... wow man there are alot of skeletons that need to be very careful out there.

Alternatively, you could never do something that you knew was wrong in an attempt to cause harm to another AA.

Doesn't seem that hard; you don't attack them, you don't plot against them, you don't steal aid from them, and you don't spy on them.

You run a clean house, and you will always get the respect you deserve for it; and if someone tries to do you wrong, other AA's will support you because you have been wronged.

  4. Atleast you're being honest, I'll give you that.

Thank you, you are both a scholar and a gentleman.

If this act by TPF is so acceptable, and spying is so acceptable, then the rest of Bob will act accordingly and strike against Athens/RoK/GOD/\m/ for their actions. Eventually, we will achieve a victor, and either it will be laid into history that spying is acceptable in a case of war or that spying is never acceptable.

OOC: Underlined that one for you. ;)

  5. Not everybody is good enough to take that many alliances on :P

Practice makes perfect. Here is TPF's second try, let's see how they fare.

    -snip-

OOC: Why do I keep getting the feeling that you are simply posting random nonsense logs and quotes in an attempt to gain sympathy from those too lazy to actually read the post and realize it's not even relevant?

  6. From a war they were in? That's how it seems from what I've gathered from these threads.

If that's the case, the Karma War is over, and the prosecution on that is a bit late, and should've been left dead at peace.

You can't honestly believe that having ex-members form AA's in an attempt to obtain a protectorate with an enemy and coup them from the inside is something that TPF pulled out of their "WAR" playbook, can you? That would take at least 2-5 months logistically, no one plans for that while negotiating a surrender. This was a blatant attempt to gain power and turn the tables in the future - they were out of options then, so they did what any good AA would do, plan for the future; only people don't take too kindly to the kind of plans that involve spying and coup attempts.

There is no expiration date on a CB; if you have been wronged by an AA then you can hold them to justice when and if you see fit. Athens and RoK have been wronged, and they will see their justice.
