  1. Interesting topic. I made the call to not defend Kashmir and I would make that call time and time again. That's the risk you take when you go paperless and I see Kashmir has since stopped being paperless, which is a step in the right direction. Truth be told it was a lose-lose situation for NSO. NSO's entrance into this war would have drug the war out and more than likely been our demise. The way the world is these days I don't think many alliances can take a sustained beating without disbanding in these harsh times. As Emperor one must protect his own alliance before protecting allies. Most of those times they correlate and i'd gladly throw myself and the alliance into the fire for another ally. However NSO's entrance into this war would have changed absolutely nothing. We did deliver lots of aid post war but i guess that simply isn't enough.

How many wars have there been in the past 3 years before Oc? One a year? Of which all were initiated by various Oc AAs. No one else was doing anything before Oc besides alliances that would come to create the bloc. How many conflicts have we seen since it's creation? 3 to 4 depending on where one starts and another ends.

Seems like everyone was complaining that the game is boring and nothing happens. So we started to make !@#$ happen and now people are complaining that things are happening. Got to love CN.

That is god awful logic. You've done what exactly? Rolled MI6 twice and fought some proxy wars with DK? I wouldn't exactly call the bloc to end all blocs as a solution to everyone complaining. It is in fact the opposite. I can't fault the strategy but if you wanted to make things more interesting for the rest of us you've done a !@#$ job of it. It's the same as it ever was. Just in shear numbers Oculus can't lose unless the rest of the game rises up to stop it. Any competition you've snuffed out which is, i guess, why MI6 is being stomped down again. Again, i can't fault you because if i was in the same position of power that Oculus is i'd be doing the same thing, just a hell of a lot more frequently. It's been the same way for years now. I never thought it'd yearn for Post-Karma politics, but that was some of the most interesting times i've had. I give Oculus all the credit though, you've gathered the most nations and you are statistically unopposed.

This topic has brought about some good discussion though. Many people have left due to the lack of any real political meaning, many long time members of NSO included. I mean christ the forums here are littered with the dumbest micro-drama that I can imagine except the last two weeks or so. I'm not really sure anything can be fixed from the players perspective. Now it's about preserving instead of defending allies. I don't know too many alliances that could suffer a brutal curbstomp and not have the communities slowly fade away (TPF/STA). It's quite sad really.

  3. I entirely feel bad about how abrupt this must seem to a lot of you and I feel bad about the lack of shoutouts and drama - and a little bit of shock glancing over the replies and not seeing any of the hate I expected from certain parties.

Some people have asked for a full story and why the $%&@ not: (short version)

I was told that my friends in Kashmir were being hit soon for the purpose of drawing in other alliances. I relayed this information to some people who could be trusted to relay this information quietly to both Kashmir and NSO (since NSO is allied/close to kash).

The next day, plans shifted to hitting NSO directly. In my foolish loyalty to a coven of former friends, I relayed this information directly to NSO's Emperor Joe Stupid who then copy/pasted the logs into the NSO government forums. TheListener then decided to sell me out to Non Grata as a mole in some attempt to spare NSO's life.

Given that I haven't seen NG hit NSO yet, I assume this was at least temporarily successful - so I guess I pseudo-achieved my goal of trying to protect/warn NSO, but not in the way that I necessarily intended.

Honestly, I guess I underestimated the hate that most of NSO arbitrarily holds for me. Internet friends are fickle and I entirely did not expect the response I got from them.

So am I angry at Oculus for trying to roll my friends? No, they're just playing the game.

Am I salty with Polaris for expelling me? Nah. It had to be done.

I hate to leave any place, game or geographic, angry. I feel like it's bad for your soul - It just sucks that the alliance that I literally stuck around in CN for, or rerolled for, or left other places to join ended up stabbing me in the back and finally killing my will to continue playing.

Anyways: Good luck Polaris - I like to think I left you better than I found you. Y'all are a righteous community and I genuinely regret betraying the trust. Grub will be a good replacement though.

You've left NSO over 5 times in the past, what on earth made you think that any of the members would accept you with open arms, with an application post titled "I died for your sins" ?. You were fed false information because they had suspected you (and rightly so) of leaking information. This is precisely the reason you never made it anywhere in NSO. I couldn't trust you. You had like cyber ADD. You would start 3-4 different projects and leave them all unfinished, and you usually just ended up quitting NSO. The only reason i perceived this as a credible threat was because the plan you gave to Margrave made sense. It made too much sense for someone like you to come up with. Honestly i like you a lot Holton. You're a good person and I'm glad that you felt strongly enough for NSO that you risked everything for us to provide our allies with information you felt was accurate. I have no hard feelings towards you, but that clearly isn't reflected back. Good luck out there, whatever it is you decide to do. I'm sorry that it ended the way it did for you.
