An official statement was issued to the world:

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE PEOPLE'S SECRETARIAT FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS
The Union of Revolutionary Socialist Republics had noticed that the neighboring Republic of Hudsonia had ceased all activity, given the fact that we had offered aid and support to that country following the recent nuclear attacks. We are not going to idly stand aside and let the working People wallow in anarchy, and as such, the U.R.S.R. will be moving in to restore law and order.
The Border Security Zone alongside the URSR-Hudsonian border were opened as approximately five thousand Red Army troopers were moved into the region. They advanced into the now-former Hudsonia, imposing law and order along the way. The capital city were occupied, but when the troops neared Hamburg, they paused to put in Hazmats and clean-up equipment, which took hours. Once most of the troops were clothed, Hamburg was occupied, where reconstruction and clean-up work began immediately.

A provisional Commune was established in the city of New Berlin, which had served as the capital of the former Imperial Hudson Reich and the Republic of Hudsonia. The new government went on the task of re-establishing government administration.

The process of integration of the former Hudsonia was launched when the provisional Hudson Commune in New Berlin initiated efforts to restructure the region's taxation and financial systems to fit with these in the URSR. At the same time, in the cities, towns, and villages across the area, Communes were established for administrative purposes and to maintain law and order on the local level.

The State Planning Commission was authorized to supervise the nationalization of several major industries in the region. SPC officials were moved into the region to take over control of corporations and businesses, and to pave the way for the formation of workers' committees to take control of said businesses. In turn, the State Bank proceeded to take over banks and other relevant financial institutions.

The Coastal Security Zone was extended to the Hudsonian coast, including the port of Hamburg, and the People's Secretariat for Maritime Transport began taking operational control of the Zone in accordance to Decree No. 78. Likewise, the Border Security Zone was imposed over the Hudsonian border with the Pravus Ingruo protectorate in the former Disparu; border guards and officials of the Border Services Commission began taking over (and sealing off) Hudsonian border checkpoints and crossings alongside the border.

Finally, the Revolutionary Defense Forces moved in: Red Army troops and officials took over Hudsonian military bases and installations, Red Navy personnel assumed control of naval bases, and the Red Air Force occupied airfields, airbases, and other relevant bases.

Life in the Hudson was rapidly changing, and the inhabitants would see that. The Red flag was everywhere, and propaganda posters were beginning to be pasted over the cities and towns across the region. While hazmat teams were cleaning up Hamburg, construction teams from various People's Secretariats (on both the provincial and Union level) were hard at work renovating streets, houses, public buildings, and railways in New Berlin, Stuttgart, Thomasville, and Peterburg, among others. Bridges and dams would be upgraded.

The Union government began its major foray into the lives of the inhabitants by declaring them to be "citizens of the U.R.S.R. in full rights and duties"; the Main Command Administration issued orders to all males of military age (defined as between 18 years and 49 years) to report for military service. Recruitment centers would be established all over the Hudson (with the notable exception of Hamburg), beginning in New Berlin. This was part of the Union-wide effort to expand the size of the Red Army. An official quota was established: 10,000 recruits were to report for military service. Failure to do would be considered "counter-revolutionary", and dealt with appropriately.

Likewise, the Union Bank (as the State Bank had been renamed to) issued a resolution, with the approval of the Central Committee, requiring citizens to register their accounts with the Union Bank. On top of that, citizens were ordered to exchange their Mark currency at the nearest bank for Liras in corresponding value. The implementation of the Lira in the region was now underway.

Procinctia is absolutely not alarmed that The Union of Revolutionary Socialist Republics has annexed and absorbed yet another of our neighboring countries. Why should we worry about being in the vicinity of a vastly more powerful, rapidly expanding, militant revolutionary nation that has already brought down three nearby regimes? The revolution marches on, which is fine if that revolution does not march on us.
