When starting out be careful about spending much until you can arrange some cash income, otherwise you'll fall short when needing to pay bills. Only buy something if there is a red warning message that you are 'too low', which there likely will be early on. About 25-100 Soldiers, 10-50 Infrastructure and 10-20 Land should be fine to start, then add a little more if or when it becomes "red warning" again. Because cash assistance if fairly difficult to get directly "un-tied", there are some trading options that help get you cash, too. Also, don't bother with the "Foreign Aid" topic on the forum for now..it is basically abandoned it seems. Anyhow, feel free to ask for basic assistance.
