When starting out be careful about spending much until you can arrange some cash income, otherwise you'll fall short when needing to pay bills. Only buy something if there is a red warning message that you are 'too low', which there likely will be early on. About 25-100 Soldiers, 10-50 Infrastructure and 10-20 Land should be fine to start, then add a little more if or when it becomes "red warning" again. Because cash assistance if fairly difficult to get directly "un-tied", there are some trading options that help get you cash, too. It was suggest that some of the resources could be substituted...like adding [b]Iron[/b], to have Silver, Gems, Coal, Iron, and receive Bonus Resources Steel, Affluent Population, and Fine Jewelery. So, if some nation with Iron is interested, maybe could adjust the resource, too, to make things work either way.

That is an opinion, because obviously cash or resources *could be* sent to every nation. Very good place for trading advice, but it is used for very short trades, "days, hours" not "7+ days". Very nice characters there, too.
