Meeting with Cochin

Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleksander Andry took off his glasses and polished them, then put them back on and peered across the table at the Cochin representative. "King James would have met with you himself, but he's tied up in Burgundy at the moment. Let's get straight to business. Cochin is a large nation, with limited military personnel with which to ensure security. Having exterior protectorates can be somewhat...annoying, for both military management and the people at home, who tend to prefer to have their sons and daughters home than in some foreign protectorate full of people who speak a different language." He paused to take a sip of water. "I understand part of your Kazakh protectorate was recently allowed independence, the Mongol Federation. That alleviates the strain somewhat, but there's still the rest of Kazakhstan. The Slavic Federation would like to give you an offer for it. Are you willing to sell it?"

KP Varma listened to the offer impassively and said, "No, we cannot sell you those lands. But we do believe that Slavic Federation is today better positioned to take care of that land and its people than the Kingdom itself is. We have no objection in handing over the remaining Cochin Kazakh protectorate to you, to annex it or to maintain it as a protectorate. The Kyrghyz Protectorate would continue to be under Cochin control."

"Of course, there is hardly a Brigade sized force in that entire area and they would be evacuating within 48 hours. Congratulations, Mr. Andry. I hope your nation would become worthy sovereigns of those lands." KP Varma said.
