Militarisation

In the interest of national prudence the military department is putting forth a series of longterm military mandates to be perused and met by the nation of Japan.

The longterm professional ground forces benchmark of the Japanese nation is 500,000 highly trained elite troops issued the best equipment available. This will be met over the next few years with annual benchmarks set at 100,000 soldier increases each year. This professional army will begin with a national conscription registry to begin in the following weeks during which every able bodied man and woman between the ages of 17-45 is to report for a two hour long physical fitness, and capability screening. During this screening there will be a medical exam and a series of blood test done by a medical professional of the same gender. Candidates for service will be selected based off the results of these examinations. While the attempt is to selected solely based on capability profession, and educational level will be taken into account along with whether or not a canidate wishes to participate within the armed forces. In addition to screening for ground forces naval and air force needs will also draw from the pool developed by this screening process.

In addition longterm bench marks for armored division increases from 1000 units to 7000 are also being set along with a longterm increase of the air force from 20 squadrons to 100, and an artilary increase from 100 to 2000 units.

Naval needs are also presently being looked at, and design firms are being commissioned to design new naval units for the nation.
