Today a small coalition of central guild council members cerimoniously left the chamber in protest of what their constituents perceived as "a cartel of powerful figures stepping on their rights". The walk out revolved around the issue of internal economic policy and the weakness of the guild showed in turning over economic issues to the aristocracy. Rumors are now moving about that there might be a potential break with the guild which could potentially fracture the entire system that the Citadel is built on. Grand Speaker of the guild has so far issued no comment on the matter. H.M the Prince has called for deliberation in the matter, and has expressed his hope that both parties not allow this to spiral out of proportion.

Demonstrations were held by the small group of guilds today. The most prominent of which were the accountants, and the economists. Each group had a full strike from working duties, and there were even a few demonstrations held. The Guild Council has so far refused to comment, however there are rumors that they may issue a statement of right declaring an end to the strike. The question is what will follow.

*In the royal apartments*

"I think if the guild declares the move illegal we ought to support them; we can buy political credit with them." One of the royal councilors advised. Allison remained silent.

"Does everyone here agree with that?" Ryn asked; the group of councilors nodded.

Allison interjected. "But we are not buying credit with them because they are helpful to us; in fact the guilds are themselves competitors with our power."

"Right, this situation exacerbating could only help us." Ryn added.

"And how exactly do we refuse them?"

"Mmmh, simple; the Articles of Union grant each component the right to conduct their own internal affairs without intervention from any other. We simply classify this happening as internal procedure. And in so far as we are guaranteed the sole right to maintain the military; their militarizing is not an option. Let this spiral into chaos." The Prince leaned back in his chair with a satisfied look on his face. "Are we in agreement?"

The protesting guilds sent representatives to the guild council today to discuss and negotiate a resolution to the demonstrations. H.M the Prince has stated "That he hopes that the negotiations are successful", as has the Guild Speaker who has echoed these sentiments with the added point that "despite the relative illegality of their actions I am willing to let this event slide". There have been rumors circulating that even if they were to declare the actions illegal that the Aristocracy and by association the military would be legally bound to stay out of the matter, but no confirming statement has been issued by the Prince.

The negotiations had been a joke; upon entering the room the other councilors, namely Ethan Kaiser himself, had told the guildsmen in no uncertain terms that unless they resolved the strikes they ought to begin to worry about their security. Upon hearing that the group left without further comment. Now walking briskly down the hall to the congregation of guild members, Lawrence stepped out into a large atrium to find himself standing on a platform before his members. The group feel silent clearly awaiting an answer. He paused...

"Guildmen, we have been betrayed... just as we suspected this meeting was nothing more than a ploy the intent of which was to issue hollow threats in hopes of coercing cooperation. Now more than ever the weight of our situation bears down upon us; and only together can we surmount it!" The crowd cheered once. "These dogs and their master Ethan Kaiser have long used false illusions of money and power to seduce us into complacency, that ended four days ago." Again there was a cheer. "We can no longer allow such things to affect our will. Now we must wait, ready, vigil for an opportunity to effect justice. Soon the opportunity to break their tyranny will present, and at that point we will be ready to seize the moment! WE WILL TRIUMPH!" He called raising his fist into the air. The group continued to cheer as he left the stage.

In recent news after the short but fiery speech of Lawrence Veranos this afternoon, the Grand Council of the Guilds has declared the small coalition of separatist guilds illegal; and has ordered their informal strike to come to an end. The Guild has requested that the Aristocracy step in to enforce the edict. To their surprise the Aristocracy had declared that they will not intervene on the behalf of one segment of the guild to gain an advantage over the other. They site the following passages of the articles of union to justify this neutrality.

Clause 1: Each component (the Aristocracy, the Guilds, and the Syndicates) may not interfere either through individual action, or through the Triumvirate, in the internal political affairs of the other components. This is limited to internal procedure, ranking systems, internal codes of conduct, internal hierarchy, and selection of the Triumvir. It does not protect illegal activities, and especially does not protect illegal activities involving multiple components.

Moreover they have stated that any military or police action on the part of the guild to enforce their own internal edict will represent a violation of the Aristocracy's right to force.

Clause 2: The Aristocracy may hold directorship over the bureaucracy at its upper levels, and be responsible for the recruitment, training, housing, and commanding of the state military, police force, navy and air force.

In response to this the Guild has called for an emergency amendment of the Articles of Union which the Aristocracy and the syndicats have flat out said they will veto should such an amendment be proposed. As momentum for the coalition and dissent within their ranks grows the guild appears to be incapable of managing the schism.

Today the constitutional crisis was deepened by a group of syndicates breaking off from the Central Committee and joining forces with the new Coalition. Additional Guilds left today with similar rational as those given by the original separatists. The new Coalition has united under the leadership of Lawrence Veranos. He is calling for the disbandment of the triumvirate and the establishment of a true truly representative government. Despite the chaos that the guild appears to be in James Crown the head of the Syndicates has stated that "He is completely for these offspring movements, and that the structure of the syndicates allows for such behavior. He hopes that in time the matter will resolve itself, but for now is content to watch". Ethan Kaiser has issued no further statement.

The Cold evening wind whipped at Ryn's face as he stood at a small balcony he had built into his own suite. Joining him from behind were his partner both politically and personally, Allison; and his unexpected ally, James Crown.

"You are a very clever man Ryn." He said. Pausing Ryn turned around and leaned against the rail that surrounded the balcony. Smiling he answered with his own silence. "Whether you wanted it or not the Guild is now collapsing... along with us..."

"You aren't upset?" Ryn asked to which Crown laughed.

"Upset? No, not really. Im not a politician interested in personal power Ryn. I am interested in protecting my own class, and to be honest I am more afraid of an elitist bourgeoisie gentry then an outdated and relatively tiny noble class." Ryn raised his eye brow. "Don't take that the wrong way, but your kind while potent indeed still faces a threat of revolution and revolt," he paused, "should you choose to abuse your status. Them, the gentry, on the other hand are a beast of a much greater magnitude. I united the syndicates to pair their power not yours. What is the worst you can do, become an absolute monarch, dictate to us? They could create a united bureaucratic allocation regime like the one your friend, Mr. Devereaux ran; if you studied his life you will notice he didn't gain power through controlling a military, or police force. He gained it by controlling his nation's entire intellectual elite, and gentry with his party and managerial ideology. His nation trivialized my class the point where we were loaded onto ships and scattered across his empire, then replaced with a bunch of genetically modified slaves, and a computer. That is what I am afraid of." Ryn nodded. "Fortunately your empire is already too large to really do that."

"So what, you are just going to let your group dissipate into the wood work?"

"No, im going to use my own syndicates to build on this coalition movement, exacerbate the problem of the guild and cause more separatism. After that you can step in and do what you have to do..." He paused for a moment staring off into the distance, "just one thing?"

"Yeah?" Ryn asked.

"Don't let us down..." With that crown turned to leave, and was led out by a few of the Royal Marines. Resuming himself as he was, his back turned to his world and his focus on the landscape before him he became re-aware of a second presence. Having been silent for the duration of Jame's visit, Allison returned to his side. Without saying anything she reaching with her slender arm and lightly took hold of his chin, turning him to face her. Their eyes's met and with it a collective desire began to foment. She spoke softly.

"What do you say we do something to take our minds of this... just for tonight." Ryn smiled, and with his eyes traced the beautiful silhouette of his lover's face. Moving in to meet her lips, he embraced them with his own, and together they shared a long moment of passion as all of their desires and uncertainties simply melted away from their person. After a moment he took her other hand and they paused, breathing somewhat deeply he weakly replied.

"I would say yes."

Today the crisis which has divided our nation has been doubled over. Double the syndicates that left yesterday have now departed today and have joined the coalition provoking additional walk outs by the Guild. The guild now is fully split and the leadership of Ethan Kaiser has been entirely incapable of handling the matter. Rumors are now circulating that despite calls by the Central Council for his resignation the Guild Speaker has refused to step down.

Demonstrates for the separatist coalition have for most part paralyzed national industry as large protests and riots have broken out across the cities. The Aristocracy has to this point maintained its pledge to not intervene in the matter, and despite repeated declarations of illegality by the Guild Council no end appears to be in sight.

*In the Private Office of the Prince*

Lifting its phone from the cradle Ryn dialed the number written on the small piece of paper in his hand. Pausing for a moment he allowed it to ring...

"Yes?"

"Its time."
