Centurius
The positive response from Sweden was a pleasant surprise to the government in Petrograd, the security of the Baltic and the Russian capability to act within it had become a key concern as for now it was the only real way for Russia to trade by sea. As such the arrival of the Swedish Emperor, as with those who had come before him, was given the best Petrograd could offer its guests before being escorted to the Winter Palace. Yawoo
The Swedish Emperor would arrive blasting Swedish death metal with all the pomp and ceremony required by the dignity of his office. Having been working in Helsinki throughout the week, it was but a short helicopter flight to Petrograd. With North American nations becoming increasingly belligerent, as well as an increased rise of anti-Eurocism across the globe, there was a need to secure the Baltic from foreign threats. In this endeavour, Sweden and Russia would need to work closely or risk alienation and domination.
Centurius
Upon his arrival at the Winter Palace the Emperor would be further guided to the throne room where Natalia had just concluded a meeting with her Council of Ministers who had since left the room so the two heads of state could discuss matters in private. As the Swedish emperor entered the room Natalia would rise from her throne and walk towards the man. "Welcome to Russia"
Yawoo
The Swedish emperor would give a respectful bow to his Russian counterpart before saying, "Tsarina, it is a pleasure to meet with you, and I must compliment you on your beautiful city. I must say, I have been following the reports of your military victories against the Red Scourge with interest. Your troops are doing a fine job, and are a true representation of their country." Giving a slight smile to show he was kidding, he would continue, "I fear though, that you have not invited me all the way to Petrograd to hear me shower you with compliments. Though," he paused, "I'm sure you certainly do not mind them."
Centurius
"I would not live up to my family's name if I didn't appreciate them Emperor" Natalia responded with a smile. "However indeed I did invite you over here for business. At the time I wrote the invitation I believed Sweden and Russia were uniquely positioned to aid each other. The recent collapse of Finland and your swift action to stabilize this region as well as our own initiatives in Murmansk have only increased this idea. What I would like to see is a grand alliance to bind our people against anyone who may threaten the Baltic or northern and eastern Europe in general. With your nearly full control of the Baltic and our significant ground and air forces nothing could stop us"
Yawoo
The Swedish emperor nodded his head in understanding, saying, "I too envision a future of cooperation and mutual security between our two nations. Recent events, France's swallowing of Africa, Germany's stirring and North America's rise will lead to more than mere regional conflicts. There will be another Great War - and this one may very well eclipse the horrors of the first. I think I can safely say that a military alliance is in our best interest and look forward to working alongside my Russian cousins."
