Dinoz94
It had begun in Montevideo, a nationalist movement amongst the common peoples determined to forge their own nation, free of foreign control. Within weeks, it spread like wildfire, reaching every corner of the territory that made up the region of Uruguay. Thousands were vocal in their beliefs for a new nation to be born, a nation for the Uruguayan people. It all culminated in a massive rally in Montevideo, where tens of thousands came together in Plaza Independencia, the most important square in the city. It was here that they demonstrated their wish to form an independent nation. It was here that one man stepped up to the plate to lead this movement, a man by the name of Victor Ontivaro, a native of the city. He gave speeches both at the rally in the plaza and afterwards, further stirring up the locals' desires for nationhood. Finally came the day that the local leaderships of the various towns and cities scattered across Uruguay came together in Montevideo to declare their formation of the Uruguayan Republic, an independent state in South America. A national election was held, with Ontivaro winning in a landslide, becoming Uruguay's first President. At the innaguration rally, Ontivaro gave a lengthy and quite hammy speech about his goals for the future of the Republic and where the road Uruguay would go down in the future, to greater glory. We of the Uruguayan Republic declare ourselves an independent state and wish to strive towards building our new nation. We wish to strive to make advances to make our nation a better place to live, a free and happy nation where the rights of man are duefully respected and admired. For the glory of Uruguay and all of Mankind!
