Earlier today the first act of governance by the Enhetsfront was released to the public and received with mixed reactions. Some of the more liberal parts of the country view this act as very dangerous to the nations quest for democracy and view it as a step-back from the original stated goals of the Enhetsfront--which was to overthrow the dictatorship of Greater Germany from controlling Scandinavia. While others view this as "natural and to be expected" with the country still attempting to solidify itself around it's reborn national identity. Nonetheless there were minor protests in the streets of Oslo numbering 400 young adults who were protesting in direct opposition to the conscription measures drafted in these acts. One youth was quoted as saying "I was to study in Berkinghelm and now I'm being forced to join the damned military!?" Police where deployed on sight to monitor the protests and advise the youths to return to their homes. Some complied and yet others persisted and instead grew violent pelting the officers with rocks and other objects which was in turn met with police force. Water cannons, tear gas, and sound cannons were used to disperse the rebellious crowds. Ultimately 58 youth were detained in the streets of Oslo and another 120 were released after a short detainment. Chancellor Olav was asked his thoughts on the matter, he was quoted as saying "We did not expect the countries youth to be entirely receptive to the move. It was expected that some would react in a violent manner... such is the way of the North. All the same we feel as if this service will be vital to the safety and security of the nation as a whole in the long-run. More importantly, those who serve their required 6 years of service will receive a number of benefits for their immediate families and by extension provide a higher quality of life for their families and countrymen." A silver lining to these more controversial pieces of legislation where the concerted efforts to rebuild Sweden and provide the countless aggrieved families of Sweden with relieved economic conditions and an easier means of living in order to spur resurgent growth in the battered region. Additionally, members of the Nordheim front were sentenced to serve as labor for a duration of 60 years at the discretion of the Enhetsfront. Which has largely been cheered as a wise move by most throughout Sweden & Norway. A Svalbardian was quoted as saying "Those !@#$%^&* charred Sweden, it's only appropriate they clean up their *@#% mess." All in all we tend to agree.

1) Until a time where Scandinavia has returned it's physical, economic, and political unity as a country the country will be ran under the express leadership of the Enhetsfront. Political parties will be encouraged to form in the meantime but elections will not occur until a later date for the sake of empowering the nation to accomplish what it must to regather itself. Due in large part to the fragmented interests and residual identities of Scandinavia's member states.
1a) Magnus Hadrada shall serve as Protector of Scandinavia for the duration of The Enabling Acts. This empowers him to make any executive decision on the behalf of Scandinavia for the duration of this act. In the event of his passing his position will be passed onto the next highest ranking member of the Enhetsfront.
2) In the wake of the massive drain on life in Sweden peoples of Swedish descent are being given a reduction of taxes and immigrants of Swedish descent are being given priority standing in immigration lines.
2a) Housing & Business loans for Sweden will be reduced to 0.7% apr to encourage population of war-ravaged areas in Sweden.
3) In order to provide the necessary manpower required to foster rebuilding efforts all military personal will be performing peace-time construction of roads, bridges, government, and civilian infrastructure.
3a) Norwegian & Swedish military ports and facilities will be reopened throughout the nation. Additionally, historical armories will be opened up supplying access to reserve & mothballed units of the former Swedish Armed Forces & Norwegian Defense Forces.
3b) All former Military personal of the Swedish Armed Forces, Norwegian Defense Forces, & Svalbardian Militia have been recalled into duty to their last active military station. Those whose stations no longer remain will be reassigned on a by need basis.
3c) All able bodied males of or over the age of 18 will be required to serve in the Scandinavian Grand Forces for a duration of 2 years at a minimum. Those who serve for 6 consecutive years will be eligible for minimum retirement benefits with a expansion of benefits granted at 12 years of service and finally capped at 18 years. These benefits include military housing, medical facilities and coverage, insurance, employment opportunities, and educational credits for themselves and immediate family members.
4) Any members of the Nordheim Restoration Movement will be condemned to serve in labor camps for a period of 60 years. The 200k members of said movement will provide a national workforce to aide in cleaning and rebuilding efforts around Sweden, Norway, and Svalbard. Individuals who display good behavior are eligible for a reduction in sentence at the discretion of the Protector or their local Enhetsfront Judiciary.

With the enabling acts running in full swing for a period of a few months, the Scandinavian Armed Forces have swelled to a total of 1.4 million bodies. Although the majority of these soldiers were young and relatively unexperienced having been forced into conscription. Initially there were high numbers of desertions from the ranks due to a massive reluctance of younger men refusing the call to service. After months of extensive propaganda in public broadcasts via television, internet, and radio the opinion of most has changed greatly in regards to the armed forces. Additionally, all active duty personal have been put to work in their local communities to assist in rebuilding and cleaning efforts. It is now standard training procedures for all recruits to learn basic engineering skills, electrical, and communication skills. These same recruits are being sent en mass to build new roads, bridges, rail-lines, and communication lines. Private companies have been contracted to oversee production of these civil engineering projects and add their technical expertise to the matter. Thus a relation has been formed between civil and military engineering that is making great strides to restore the prestige Scandinavia once held in a time long ago. Resources and materials are being imported en masse to fund these projects which has had a tertiary effect of creating a trading surplus in construction materials and has pressed the Steel industry to increase it's production of container carts which are quickly becoming an industrial commodity. Additional industries have seen a swell in profits and need, asphalt, concrete, lumber, rubber, copper, and other material resources are being pushed to their maximum limits which is putting pressure on domestic producers to increase their production centers by nearly double or in some cases triple. Employment around the country has seen a massive increase in job creation as well citing the centralized efforts at reconstruction there is a massive demand on more skilled contractors to assist in the overseeing efforts of these many projects. In Sweden there are a number of communities being entirely reborn and fueled by this concerted economic program which is much to the delight of most Swedes and Scandinavians as a whole.
