Markus Wilding Posted March 27, 2011 Report Share Posted March 27, 2011 (edited) The Imperial Army of the Kingdom of Africa was commissioned today. No other details have been released other than small garrisons are being deployed to important cities. High King Sochima Sopuluchukwu and High Queen Obamaniqua Sopuluchukwu today announced that a ball will be held sometime soon in celebration of the establishment of the nation. ***Classified*** Teams are being trained to keep watch over the populace in various cities around the Empire. These men and women will be clad in the latest body armor (but not heavy enough to slow them) and robes designed to conceal the person's identity and face. These people, dubbed "Overwatch Officers" will blend with the population to ensure no crimes or other illicit acts unfold on the streets of the Kingdom. The Overwatch Officers will also be highly trained in "freerunning" and parkour skills, to ensure quick and easy escape and a means of maneuvering around the city much faster than any other transportation method. In addition, these robes will be enlarged at the wrist to allow a concealed gauntlet on each arm, holding two blades each, one tipped with poison. An artist's impression of a team of these officers is below. Markus Wilding Posted May 28, 2011 Author Report Share Posted May 28, 2011 Director of the Vanguard Frontino Sopuluchukwu today issued Directive Order 203 - which officially places the remainder of the province of Niger under the Commonwealth sphere of influence. The full Directive Order can be read below.
Directive Order 203 - The Official Claims on the Province of Niger It has come to the attention of the Director of the Vanguard that the province of Niger is occupied by two forces - the Commonwealth of Africa and the People's Republic of Africa. To the Director, this is unacceptable. If one looks at Sochima Supuluchukwu's reign, he was content with allowing Communists to lord over the proletariat, the proletariat that the Commonwealth is rightfully within her rights to claim ownership over. PRA treatment of the people of Niger has been unacceptable in the Director's eyes, and encourages the PRA to release her claims to the region and allow the Commonwealth to assume control of it. Furthermore, the Director of the Vanguard will not be content with allowing PRA expansion, and urges the PRA to consider relinquishing her westernmost lands into protectorates, or even to pursue economic rights withing the Commonwealth. However, none of this will be possible if the people of Niger are divided by Communists and the Commonwealth. It is with this Directive Order that the Commonwealth of Africa lays full claim to the entire province of Niger, and all citizens within this zone, as Commonwealth territory and people. The Commonwealth Army of Africa will only consider conflict an option if all other diplomatic routes fail, and a complete breakdown of relations between the Commonwealth and the PRA occurs. Signed, Director of the Vanguard Frontino Sopuluchukwu
Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Axolotlia Posted May 28, 2011 Report Share Posted May 28, 2011 The PRA Parliament upon seeing this laughs. Their response:
The main backing of Directive Order 203, which was recently released by the new nation of the Commonwealth of Africa, is that they do indeed have an influence and are involved in the affairs of Niger. This is a lie. The region of Niger is a part of the People's Republic of Africa, and has been for longer than this commonwealth has existed. Along with that, they cite their "discontent" with the PRA's expansion, while in the process of doing so, call for their own expansion and threaten the possibility of war. Let it be known that we will not comply to such hypocritical demands, nor will we be willing to sacrifice our national security in order to comply with a young ruler. While we will not comply with theses stated demands, we do wish to solve this through diplomatic discussion.
Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Markus Wilding Posted May 28, 2011 Author Report Share Posted May 28, 2011
Do note that we never considered war an option - we only stated it would be if there were a complete breakdown of relations between our great nations. The Commonwealth has no intentions of starting a war over something that can be diplomatically resolved, although we do wish to note that relations will only be hindered as long as Niger is under PRA control.
Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Axolotlia Posted May 29, 2011 Report Share Posted May 29, 2011 You state: "The Commonwealth Army of Africa will... consider conflict an option if all other diplomatic routes fail" This is far from being "never considered". As far as Niger goes, we will not give up our sovereign land at a whim just because another neighbor demands it. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It says directly in the Directive Order itself;
The Commonwealth Army of Africa will only consider conflict an option if all other diplomatic routes fail, and a complete breakdown of relations between the Commonwealth and the PRA occurs.
The PRA is simply unwilling to accept that it may need to let it's people go. Perhaps if you made a formal offer, we would be more friendly to your requests. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Markus Wilding Posted May 29, 2011 Author Report Share Posted May 29, 2011 The Commonwealth has not demanded the province of Niger, we have merely recommended the PRA consider the option of peacefully transferring the land to the Commonwealth. As we have made clear in our Directive Order, war is not in our best interests. If anything, we would prefer to remain peaceful with our northern neighbors rather than fall into a conflict on the already bloodstained grounds of Africa. Perhaps negotiations can begin at a later date when the CoA has reorganized further. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Markus Wilding Posted June 8, 2011 Author Report Share Posted June 8, 2011 (edited) Director of the Vanguard Frontino Sopuluchukwu has today announced the official religion of the Commonwealth of Africa would be Catholic Christianity. He has also stated that although Catholicism is the official religion, Muslims will still be allowed to practice their faith unhindered in the Commonwealth. In other news, Overwatch Officers have determined the spy caught last month was, indeed, not affiliated with the PRA. Overwatch Officers have not released what nation the spy is affiliated with, though. Edited June 8, 2011 by Markus Wilding Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

He says the mobilization was the High King's last act before his death, and Director Frontino had not bothered to demobilize until now. Markus Wilding Posted June 17, 2011 Author Report Share Posted June 17, 2011 An outbreak of rabies has occurred in the southeastern part of the Commonwealth. Locals report rabid monkeys biting citizens, and the bit members instantly begin to fall ill. Director Frontino has ordered extra Overwatch Officers to the area to control the area and to shoot any monkey on sight, rabid or not. Markus Wilding Posted June 20, 2011 Author Report Share Posted June 20, 2011 Director of the Vanguard Frontino has claimed a Non-Aggression Pact has been signed with the People's Republic of Africa. This move has caused small-scale riots in some areas of the Commonwealth where public opinion of the PRA is low. Overwatch Officers have been sent to the area to ensure that no other riots occur and to suppress the riots currently taking place. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
