I thought I replied to this, but I must have gotten sidetracked and lost what I had written.

You may have noticed that Legion has entered, voluntarily, into 2 major alliance wars in a row now on the weaker side, for the record in the Dave war they also entered on the side of the losing coalition to honour their treaties. In this present conflict, other alliances would have made up some BS excuse like "we're fighting NSO still" or "conflicting treaties" or whatever to avoid getting on the side that isn't Oculus (or maybe something along the lines of "we're not allied", although I'm sure nobody would do that ;)), Legion just did what they had to do.

The thing that brought me back to this thread is that I just looked at the NSO AA and couldn't believe how soon you had fizzled out. Bluster about an eternal war, and then basically nothing left after like 3 months, which wouldn't even be an exceptionally long normal war. Mongols was doing way better after 6 months than you guys are doing now.

Was Mongols attacked or the attacker? I don't remember. Even if they were the aggressor, they had a concrete goal they built towards for years, no?

We had been fizzling for ages and decided to do something before we had 0 members, however long it would or wouldn't last. Hint, of course it wouldn't be long if we were so inactive as to disband.

I mean I'm a bit annoyed too bc I have high standards for those I hold dear but given the circumstances, no, I'm not surprised. That we actually DoWed and had a respectable initial showing at all, instead of fading away without having done anything ever in life or death, is something.

NSO was always an angsty, apathetic bunch. Our last burst being this is just NSO being NSO.

    I'll always love her.

NSO finally found their caliber when it comes to war, the inactive kid with glasses...

I find this 'bravado' rather troubling considering they ducked out defending Kashmir a few months ago.

    Best of luck Legion.

    1. Legion has over 3x as many members as us.

    2. Legion has over 2x as much nation strength as us.

    3. Legion has 28.5% aid slot usage. If one uses that as a proxy for (in)activity, they are not even close to the bottom of the barrel.

    4. We were a !@#$-hair away from hitting MHA in lieu of Legion in defense of Kashmir. Ivan Moldavi would have Moldavi'd us in. Hard to beat that. But while communicating with Kashmir's government we learned they had reached peace.

    5. Suck my lightsaber until it pierces your brain. Whatever outcome that leads to will almost certainly be better than what you have going on now.

I certainly never believed NSO would do anything to support Kashmir, and said so repeatedly.

Except for the aid bomb we promised, which I remember skeptical members of Kush saying "I'll believe it when I see it", and which we followed through on. It wasn't a massive aid drop because we are a small and not-Umbrella-efficiency alliance, but I mustered a more-than-fair number of slots of aid and even did a donation deal to make sure the majority of your open slots were filled. That aid continued until y'all told me that y'all were switching to tech deals and invited us to buy tech at favorable-to-seller rates, which we did. And I am personally still doing that, when I log in anyway, as my aid history shows.

Was mere aid enough? I am not going to use the weasel word "probably." The answer is no, as I believed back then too. But as the person who organized the aid, to see Kushbros insinuate that we did nothing is frustrating.

What, and deny Hegemony 3.0 the opportunity to have a pretend war against a pretend enemy?

Us entering would not have denied Oculus any opportunity. It still would have been a curbstomp. I'm not sure who you think we would have brought in, but they would have made very little difference.

That is not to say that we were right not to enter, of course. We should have entered regardless.

The only difference between this and previous iterations is the list of satellites who mistakenly believe they're at or near the center of power.

If this is referring to NSO: we are not under that delusion. If any of us had thoughts otherwise before y'all were noCB hit by Oculus (p sure few of us ever did), then that DoW evaporated them.

This seems a slightly strange decision if it was based off the Kashmir-Oculus War (or whatever that war is called), considering NSO has had a change of leadership since then, which one might think would be a good opportunity to improve relations, though I guess sometimes friendships ending is inevitable.

Regardless good luck moving forward to Kashmir and NSO.

    This p much.
