I would like to start this post off by saying this is a question (or a couple questions), and not an appeal.
I logged into my email the other day to find that my nation had been deleted. The reason was: "You have violated the Cyber Nations Terms & Conditions by using more than one nation"
So my question is, if you wouldn't mind answering, why are there no "in-game action" appeals? Is it the sheer volume of people who try to cheat and then whine and give excuses for losing their accounts? or is it a physical constraint issue? (ie once a nation is deleted it physically can't be restored because you don't have the ability)
The reason I ask is because I have honestly never had another account (and yes, I realize you probably hear that from everyone). I'm wondering what the other nation I'm accused of having was and/or what the IP address that logged into multiple accounts was. I don't have anyone else on my LAN, I've only ever logged into my nation from my home connection. I account sitted someone's account for a few days over a year ago after going through the proper channels (ie posted & approved in advance on this forum), and I created an account on CN Tourney edition (which I didn't think counted as a second account on regular CN).
So it's frustrating to lose a year+ old account on something I didn't do. The reason I think it would be nice if appeals were available is because occasionally mistakes ARE made. I'm proof of that. The only thing I can think of is that my ISP changed my IP (as it does every 6 months or so) and another player in my city happened to get mine or vice versa... I dunno though, that seems like a long shot. Maybe someone hacked my account password (I'd be interested to know if any IP's other than my own ever logged into my account).
The funny thing is, if I'd wanted to create a second nation, I'd have just done it at work on a different IP. Different login times, different activity times, no inter-relation between accounts and nobody would be the wiser. But honestly, I don't see the point and I hate cheaters in ANY game - plus one account was more than enough for me anyway.
So, I'll finish this post off by saying, if you don't believe me when I say I didn't have multiple nations, let me ask this: Place yourself in my shoes. Let's say you had YOUR account deleted and knew you had never violated the TOS (speaking of which, I actually READ the thing! lol), what would you do, and how would you feel?
I guess by not allowing appeals for in-game actions you are effectively saying, "Whether you cheated or not, your account is gone and we couldn't care less. Sucks to be you". Although, perhaps that is exactly what you're going for, but I hope not.
Unfortunately, I suppose this is one of those "too bad, so sad" dealies. As an old buddy of mine used to say, "The #1 rule in life is that life is not fair".
In any event, thank you for your time.
Mike
