except they decided to go out in a blaze of nuclear glory. They spent a week in peace mode buying nukes in preparation. They had other options, but their membership bought into the suicidal plans of their leadership.
Personally, while i appreciate the assistance of our allies, and am very thankful for their assistance, I'm not a fan of the dog pile tactic. that said, such a tactic has always been the deciding factor in CN wars, and will be in the future. In fact, if you may remember the dog pile tactic lead to a situation in which Valhalla was criticized during the Dove War because they didn't have enough battles in their own war.
I'm sure if a situation arose in which the FCC would need to fight, that they would welcome the assistance of their allies also.
Elysium certainly appreciates the help.

I do, but I'm sure his alliance members down to their last couple of million didn't need them as much as nowedge. If it was me I would have told them to send it to a more needy member of the alliance and used my aid slots to send aid to my alliance mates.
I fail to see how the tech would help those in bill lock, which I doubt there are any since the aid is flowing like a river. Take a look at their aid screens.

In the intrests of peace, I would think that the alliances involved in fighting them should offer some form of terms. People make mistakes, and them jumping into this war, while in accordance with their treaty with BAPS, was a big one. I believe an honorable out is in order.
They have been given terms and accepted them. The war is over for TDSM8.
I will take this moment to address folks commenting on Valhalla not knowing how to honor a treaty, or that they will try to get out of it. Let's put that to an end right here, they are taking over 200 nukes in defense of a strategically insignificant alliance (mine) for no other reason than its the right thing to do and they signed to it. I knew they would do this long before we formed Elysium and that is why I wanted them to be our protectors, Valhalla has some of the most honorable people in the game imo.

You seem to need to demonize TDSM8 for some odd reason. Maybe it helps you justify pulling the trigger.
Perhaps because they decided to lend military assistance to our enemy? Hmmm that would make them our enemy.
Perhaps they've activated that famed "underdog bonus" to start your other comments.
Whatever our allies decide to do with TDSM8 is up to them, certainly not my call. However I was suggesting we settle our personal differences in an honest straight forward way instead of framing things to paint it as circumstances beyond TDSM8's control.

Anyways, I'm not going to continue on with this foolishness. The point in my quote was that THEY HAD to be aware of the crimes BAPS is accused of to have 12 (perhaps not 30, but maybe if I inspected all the threads on this silly mess) posts debating it in just the two threads I inspected. Troll or not, they posted many times and obviously knew what the subject matter was.

Come on, own up to your mistakes. You guys were foolish and jumped into a war where you presumed there would be mercy. How about you unify your apology statement and say, "okay we were wrong to go in and we ask mercy." Instead of "we didn't know what tumin and others did" "We didn't troll, or post."

Thanks to you both for the kind words. And I completely understand your position, I'm slowly starting to understand how Alliance politics work around here. And TBH I still do feel bad for what happened to Elysium, it shouldn't have happened, it would have been much preferable for us to just repay them for the damage caused and let them ZI the 4 offending Nations. TBH I bear no ill will to anyone bar Valhalla for forcing this situation on us, and a few select individuals from other alliances who seem to bear some kind of grudge against BAPS or like to big themselves up and who have helped to escalate the matter. I can also understand why everyone is on our backs from reading the stuff on here posted by these people, I know how this medium works, most people would have had little to no contact from BAPS and people always believe and agree with recognised and regular participants of Worldwide politics, but we have been pretty badly misrepresented, and I just wanted to get our side of the argument across before we finish with the game.
When we get bored of our next adventure we may check back to see how the Cyberverse is getting on and may decide to re-emerge later. Until then, I'll just leave it in the hands of Karma.
Anyway, it was nice to have a civilised debate without flaming or trolling. GATO obviously garners alot of respect from the trolls and it's nice to see. So I'll end yet another rant by wishing you good luck to GATO finding Spy slots and our various other foes War slots, I'm keeping my fingers crossed, BTW you're pretty much all safe, we're only really attacking Valhalla so hopefully the rest of you haven't been too badly scathed by this mess. (And yes I personally did nuke 2 ML nations (one being pepper), before they come along pointing out my inaccuracies, but I just wanted to fire my last 2 nukes before they were spied away...

I'll say that I mentioned to all involved you peaced me out, even knowing it would leave you staggered and unable to escape so that I could declare on Tim Tebow (one of the larger nations directly involved in the sanctioning of Elysium). That was an honorable move, regardless of what happens next.

In all fairness, I have seen a great deal of trolling on both sides. Not to mention the longstanding history of spinning words and ideas that occurs during wars and intense diplomatic interactions. While I havent been able to see when the first nuclear attack occured, I have looked to see when the first BAPS-GOONS transaction began and it appears on January 12. That would be AFTER their declaration iirc. first time
So please tell me how they couldnt have pleaded ignorance at least to the GOON aid seeing as I cant check the Nuke page.
Im glad to see TDSM8 manning up and apologizing. Hopefully people will accept this and we can move on.

Because the First GOON Aid was on the 12th, and the TDSM8 DoW was on Jan 13 2008, 05:46 AM. In addition Molon Labe released a statement about taking it nuclear on the 10th, we posted in that same thread confirming we were doing the same as we had been hit with multiple warheads.

Another day, another BAPS thread. This has got to be THE most over-exaggerated and over-publicized war I've ever seen. While I do wish Elysium et. al. the best of luck, I can't help but notice the surplus of sideliner threads. :\
Thanks wain, at this point we've taken more nukes than members. For US this is a real fight.

I am incredibly impressed, TDSM8. It's a shame that only if your final hour we can see your quality. I hope you achieve the peace you deserve.
This isn't quality. This is a group that trolled a bunch of our DoW's, many times quoting the reasoning for the war in their posts. Then they enter the war, aiding our enemy who at this time has taken the conflict nuclear, aided GOONS several days prior to the TDSM8 DoW, AND now once they realize the situation they stepped into during their publicity stunt, they want to run away. Not only are they going to run away, but they offer an apology lying that they knew what was going on, further upon questioning them in on IRC about this apology they claim to have remained off the boards pre ourside's DoW and afterwards. Just go take a look at any of our threads and you will see a ton of TDSM8 trolling. You can't claim ignorance and have 30 replies in our threads.

I would not be too surprised if they didn't know. (To be honest, I didn't at the time of their declaration). That aside, it's unusual for a lot of smaller alliances to pay much attention to game politics. I know most of the ones RIA is friends with tend to rely on us for their information, if at all. In that case, and in light of comments made by TDSM8 themselves recently, I would say it is likely that the large part of their political knowledge was influenced by BAPS. Last time I checked, most people are unwilling to portray themselves in a negative light to their friends.
This is false. They might be able to claim they didn't know what was going on IF they had not trolled each and every DoW against BAPS, the apology threads by BAPS, AND the NADC post of the logs.

The second statement is that we are here to condemn the actions of the rogues and the senator who took it upon themselves to harm Elysium, an act that should never be brought down upon an innocent nation. We didn’t enter this war to protect or defend such actions, we entered this war to honor our treaty and we have done such accordingly. However, we do condemn such aggressive attacks done by the senator, and any harm he caused to Elysium. Again, the extent of what had happened in this situation was not fully clear when we entered the war, and they are actions we don’t condone.
