FINALS ANNOUNCED
Athens Vs Meihua

Just when you expected a smooth cruise to the finals, Athens surprised everybody by falling to Meihua 0-1 in the Semi-final round. A lot of solid defense all around until the second half when Meihua switched to a more offensively centered formation, breaking through to score the game winning match.
Russia Vs Tierra Del Fuego
2 - 1
A battle between two Cup favorites, and what many assumed would be the Final round match, Russia and Tierra Del Fuego went head to head in the number 2 watched match of the Cup. A battle of possession, Russia managed ten more minutes than Tierra in holding the ball, minutes that were crucial in the final moment of the match when Skorkosvky Petro took a header off a cross for the game winning match.

One of the prerequisites of winning a match is hanging on to the ball, which America spectacularly failed to do. Meihua took full advantage of their control and finished the match early in the second half.
Tianxia VS Athens
2 - 2
1 - 3 PK
Perhaps the most anticipated match of the tournament, Tianxia took on the Athenian Federation. Regular time ended 2 - 2 in a tie, forcing the match into a PK shootout. There Tianxia proved very unlucky, scoring only one of their shots. Athens moves on.

Madagascar will lend troops to the Protection Force, which will have the added bonus of training Madagascar Security Forces

The Office of Foreign Affairs notes that the Travel Authority is tracking an extreme surge in Holiday Travel to Bear Islands'. Per the unofficial treaty between the two nations, all tickets to Bear Islands from Madagascar will be subsidized to reduce costs by 50%. The government is also fairly confident that at least one town is completely devoid of people, all having left to participate in the festivities.

Some nations preferred to use guns. Some nations preferred to use tanks. Other nations build powerful Air Forces, and others still sent weaponized satellites into space. Madagascar did not like any of those things.
They preferred to sell them instead.
Captain Anatoly Vandisi stood on the bow of his ship, binoculars in hand, staring through the mist.
"There she is" he said to himself as he spotted land. The ship docked at the busy port in Bear Islands, and the crew began unloading the cargo. As the work continued, the captain was approached by a small committee from the docking authority.
"Greetings Captain, I am Johaan von Bear, Inspector of the Trade Authority," the heavily bearded man said. He had extremely bushy eyebrows and a backwards baseball cap.
"Von bear?" asked the Captain, very skeptical.
"Yes, all governments officials are required to have 'bear' in their name somewhere," the inspector said, quite serious. The captain took him for his word
"So, what do we have today, good Captain?" asked the Inspector. The Captain folded his arms in a cocky manner, and one of his crewman opened one of the crates. Inside were hundreds of packages of plastic culinary utensils.
"Party utensils. To be sold for under 2 Bear Islands Dollars," the captain said smugly.
"Damn you!" The inspector exclaimed. Madagascar had been flooding the country with cheap, disposable goods. It was in retaliation for last month, when Bear Islands started selling higher quality construction materials to the Madagascar population for cheaper than the local producers.
"I also bring news. We're going to be imposing a tariff of 200% markup on your auto parts. In effect, a whole 2 dollars more in taxes per dollar," the Captain said, turning to his work in offloading goods.

Tierra Tops Bear Islands
In the first match since resumption of gameplay, Tierra Del Fuego defeats the Bear Islands' Nation of the Bear Presents Bear Islands' Nation of the Bear 1-0. The final goal occured during a PK Shootout as both teams managed to keep the ball away for all 93 minutes of regular play.

TOURNAMENT CHANGE
Due to the continue collapse of stable nations, that tournament has taken a turn, as both Siam and Faraway have vanished as nations. We mourn their passing. As a result a reshuffling of the tournament is slightly in order. As Madagascar and Russia have already played, their match still stands, with Russia advancing to the next round, knocking Madagascar out of the Tournament. That leaves only 3 other matches remaining. Stay tuned!

Nobody knows exactly what results from breeding two. Procinctia Armament wasn't
bravesuicidal enough to investigate it. Bears were already breed for intelligence to serve as capable artillery logistical support in manner of the original Wojtek. In general they often proved smarter smarter than the average bear. Procinctia Armament failed to anticipate customers actually breeding them; particularly outside controlled laboratory environment. Ursidae of eugenically selected greatest intelligence producing offspring with Ursidae of eugenically selected greatest intelligence. . . the result could be a new type of monstrosity. Worst case scenario could be a terrifying bear apocalypse :o A select cadre of most loyal theorists would begin planning for mankind's inevitable and certain decline.Madagascar's lack of prudence has doomed us all!

The Madagascar Armed Forces would send several photos and a "Your Invited!" card to all executives in Procinctia Armaments, inviting them to the "Welcome to the World" birthday party for newborn Wojtek, named Odin (named after the noise his father made when he popped out). Part of the Birthday Celebrations will be baby Odin's formal inauguration into the Madagascar Armed forces, starting of course at the lowest rank of E-1.

Wojtek Training Nearly Complete, Nation with "Baby Fever"
Previously in recent times, billionaire Pierre Javilosay bought three prototype Wojtek bears from Procintia Armaments. After growing bored, Pierre donated his bears to the Army, which is now pleased to report to the public today that their training has gone along very smoothly and positively.
Well, for 2 of them that is.
Annie, the third and female member of the trio of bears, is currently expecting her first cub with her mate, the complicatedly named "Omissilareneg", and one of the two other Wojteks. She is currently on Maternity leave. This has sparked numerous selfies with fellow service members within the Madagascar Armed Forces with Annie. A military wide baby-shower is being planned for next month

In a battle of tough defense and even stringier offense, Russia managed to squeak out a late game goal to win the match against home favorites Madagascar. Russia stays on undefeated, while Madagascar's hope must be raised in the Loser's bracket, the winner of which will get to move on with the rest.

Today Czerka Corporation has released the announcement of the appointment of a new CEO. Maarjte van Ryn, a migrant from the Transvaal region of southern Africa, was today confirmed by the Czerka Board of Directors (Czerka is a privately held company).
Maarjte has been with the company now 10 years and, according to insiders familiar with the company, has been aggressively working her way up the corporate ladder.
"She's definitely been a positive force for the company," says one anonymous source, who asked not to be named because as a news organization we don't make things up.\
"She completely turned around our arms division, and our agriculture division is currently one of the most profitable, servicing the entire continent. I really look forward to see what she does at the helm".
Rumor has speculate that, once in charge, Maarjte will try to consolidate her position, to be not just CEO, but owner as well. Madagascar International could not verify those rumors.

Work on the Madagascar National University has begun, to be built in the nation's capital.
Madagascar has allocated funds, permits issued, and federal construction crews deployed to begin the Mainland Connect Project, an ambitious project to build a Rail-bridge span across the Mozambique Strait. The bridge, which will begin in Besalampy, will connect with the mainland at Angoche, to serve as both high-speed commuter rail and freight rail. Resource and funding has been provided through Congressional approval, as well as the Madagascar Development Corp. Contracts for certain sections of the rail-bridge have been put up for bidding.

The Athenian Federation has been petitioned for resource and technical aid in completing the project, which would make Madagascar one of the, if not the, premier economic power on the continent, and a much more reliable trading partner.

Meihua Takes Cup
Defeats Russia 0-0, 4-3 in exciting PK shootout!
Lets be honest: this game was dull. Both Russia and Meihua took the field looking to win, and it really showed as both teams fielded a solid defense, preventing any score in regular time. Leaving many people wanting more out of the game, the crowd really rallied as both teams prepared for a PK shootout.
Jack Capstone, Meihua's keeper, entered goal-line fully ready to play, stopping the first two of Russia's tries, the first being a spectacular diving save, while the second was a poor shot directly down the middle.
Artyom Artyomson (Grandson of Tony), on the other hand, had enjoyed a day free of Meihua's offense, and was thus wholly unprepared for simple tricks and flicks that Meihua employed in order to kick the ball in the net.
Meihua takes the AFIS World Cup! Congratulations!
