Im trying to remember what really got me to stay here. When I first signed up 4 years ago, I was pretty much ready to quit after the first 3 minutes. All the text, all the waiting around, it seemed like a pretty pointless endeavour. It wasnt until I started to realize what the actual point of the game was (alliances, politics, etc.) that I actually gave it a shot. A big part of what made me stay was my interest in nation/society building games in general (like Civ, citiesxl, etc). That being said, I was fortunate enough to NOT have direct orders to make my government a certain type, become a tech farm, have to pay reps just for getting raided, etc. I see a lot of that nowadays and I honestly would not have stayed if that was the case when I was new. I think newer nations should be given more freedom and sovereignity to make decisions on their own. Government type, the answers to the government positions, improvement build order, etc are things that new players should experiement with on their own for a while. Micro-managing new nations and telling them exactly how to do things, IMO, is a big factor in the lack of retention. It just makes everything seem really lame that way, expecially when the whole point of this game is that you are the "ruler" of your own nation. This would be an effort coming from the alliance level, it would require a big shift in the cultures of many alliances out there, and as such it likely will not happen. I'll admit I'm kind of hyprocitical here. Just the other week I was telling a new player which gov positions to set, order them not to buy anything, change to communist government, etc. The guy deleted, and it hit me later that if that was my experience when I first started, I would have quit too. So I learned a lesson: give them time to figure things out and I bet they will stay longer.

:blush: That is depressing, I am part of a large alliance and have no intention of leaving to create my own alliance just for a custom flag. Maybe this can be different in the future after a game update?

I have a nation called "Kansas" and I really want to have the actual flag of that US state be my flag. I saw that there are custom flags available to choose from including other states (like Texas) but no colors of the great Sunflower State. How do I upload my own custom flag so I can fly that?

Oh and I dont care if people dont like having interaction with other people. Thats why out of hundreds of CN players, only about 20 would really show up. Hopefully we can get the admins to give a speech.

I will invite all my friends who are girls to the CN convention. Besides my 20 or so friend girls, I know 3 girls that are DTF anyone for like, no reason. Doesnt sound like much for a convention for hundreds of players, but you know barely anyone is really gona show up

We can have it at my house,,, its the best for several reasons: * Its Kansas City, the center of America so all yanks are equal distance from it and international people pay less on flights caues its not a major airport * Despite what you think about KC, its more badass than you realize. Great BBQ, great beer, and the girls from the Universities? Damn they are easy on the eyes * I will have so many drinks.. dude like 2 kegs, 3 handles of Sailor jerry's, jungle juice, etc. We will literally go hamsauce * The state I live in is named after my Cybernation, so thats like.. adding to the convention theme? * I have a lot of cool friends (guys I know 3 girls that are DTF anyone for like, no reason... these arent my "friends" technically but they will be there) * My house can support big parties. One time, we had about 15 people and a massive bag of shrooms and everybody literally tripped face. If a house can support 15 trippers, it can support 50 drunk people (which, despite the hundreds of players on this game, would be the max number that would actually show up). * I will literally pay somebody that comes from out of the country, even Canada, $%&@ it... If someone is that devoted to the game, they deserve the money. * You can crash at my place (reserve the couch early, it goes fast) So yea if I get at least 20 people to commit to this (like seriously commit, we will make a facebook group for it) then I am down... No joke (except if there are little kids that play this game. Congrats for being that awesome for your age, but this is an 18+ party).
