  1. I'm glad IRON reasoned the cancellation instead of saying, "Reasons were given in private." Regardless of the reasoning, at least it gives us something to talk about post-war, so thank you.

I find the assertion that the NPO is to blame that coalition called Equilibrium failed to achieve "solid victory" is wrong. I find the conflict against Doomhouse due to Umbrellas action in handling the rogue on Ai, ending in a clear victory. That it could have been even more decisive, I find not the failing on part of NPOs action during that war.

Among many words, there was a clear level of criticism leveled at us on that point, I felt so called to shortly answer it.

Good luck and happy trails IRON.

Evidently, DH or Umbrella wasn't stomped on enough.

  2. Because...?

Zulu is perfectly in its rights to counter, just as they are also perfectly in their rights to call in treaty partners if they want to make it an even bigger party.  There is no right to tech raid, never has been.  Raiders have always relied on people PMing for peace to ensure their profit margins.  Raiding and causing wars, however one sided, is bad for business.

    It was a joke.

'Easier' is entirely subjective .. It's 'easier' on the eyes of those who don't want to see other people's business (but not easy for them to just ignore what they don't want to see - cause :effort: ). But I have to agree with Auctor's line of questioning; it's a societal decision that things "should" always be handled in private. That's something that "should" be entirely by choice IMO, it's your own business to handle your own way; but then - we don't live in a pro-choice or transparent world.

My point was that you'll get a faster response and, therefore, reparations or a resolution in a more timely matter with less destruction of pixels. This goes for any alliance. I don't disagree with the contents of your post.

  3. Why is the burden on the offended party to handle things privately, again? Actually curious, is it because it might be embarrassing to the offending party?

It's easier to handle a situation by contacting the leaders of the offending party rather than shout on a microphone for the rest world to see and hope that the offending party will eventually respond. In theory, it should be quicker.

It is with great sadness that we announce that starting today, the Sword Alliance is no more. We had a good run while it lasted. This is to take effect immediately. It was a hard decision, but it had to be done.

This does NOT mean, however, that our leader will disestablish his nation. He will join another alliance and serve Planet Bob there.

(OOC: To GOONS, do NOT even THINK of attacking the alliance I will join. Just don't do it if you know what's best for you.)

Nice reverse psychology for when you join GOONs. They'll be too tempted to attack themselves in order to attack you.

  5. Bebers of NATO - fought well despite declaring up

DanDesade of Legion - tough opponent

Deep Blue C of MHA - fun banter

MetalSnow of Sparta - nice guy

Enjoyed fighting Scorn. Funny guy. He asked for my warchest "to save the cost of spying". I told him, and he told me his.

Nice to see Scorn is still a fun guy, I fought him a while back and was entertained. We got to share both of our delusions of grandeur.

We have heard the call and rejoice.

The enemy understands nothing but the expression of blasphemy, their deception has been disguised as intentions for peace. Those who harm Allarchon and his messenger, GunhammaD peace be upon him, will be condemned.

The infidels shall regret their transgressions against Allarchon's holy city. Oranjerusalem and its Mushqaeda warriors rejoices in fighting alongside our brothers in the Kaliphate against the barbarians at the gates.

    Allarchonu Akbar!

  7. Failing a lot of spy ops against opponents with better tech  and rebuying those spies probably was the biggest toll aside from air force costs. Winning most of them the second round made up for it at least. Also, buying a WRC 5 minutes before the first war thread showed up didn't help matters :P

I had a few opponents stock up on max cruise missiles to boost their NS for some reason.

  8. IRON (December 2006-February 2007): First alliance I joined after a friend from Warcraft 3 told me about the game when I talked about a browser game I played in the past. I was rather confused, asked a random big nation in-game for help (I think his name was ajewdude or something like that) and got no help probably because I didn't ask the right people. I left in early March after looking at small micros to join. This was when IRON was a democracy and had Sister Midnight leading it iirc. My friend didn't mind as long as I stayed on orange team (which I did).

Wolfpack (March 2007-August 2007): A micro that started out in February and was quickly growing to over 200 members by the end of the year. I was inactive, tried to get involved but went inactive when I didn't know how to conduct my responsibilities and make a treaty with FEAR (which happened eventually). I had anxiety issues at the time and had a chronic fear of failure that led to me becoming inactive and deleting on August. Only the spam part of the forum seemed active anyway. I was active enough to read a thread about Aegis being beat down on the CN forum. People say the CN forum is bad as if it used to be good, but I remember the mindless drones and hails that were just simply larger in number rather than higher in quality. However, some of the RP aspects of the game were more interesting and had walls of text that were sometimes worth reading. It seemed posting bad things about the stronger alliances would get you rolled from what I saw at the time. I'm glad I haven't seen that since I became active in 2009.

ODN (September 2007): same friend invite me to his new alliance in the ODN after I quit and went inactive in my last alliance. I went inactive in about a week and didn't do much until I deleted in December. I just remember that there was a war with GOONS (later learned to be the Unjust War) and that there were no targets for me. I was surprised how easy alliance application was at the time since I just made a post that I got recruited.

Wolfpack (March 2008- June 2008): I returned the day before IRON rolled Wolfpack for alleged spying. I saw the process where the academy guy said he was quitting then he joined a Wolfpack splinter where he claimed to have spied on them which led to Wolfpack's rolling and honorable surrender terms such as posting lamps or something. It seemed ridiculous and the terms were steep, but it didn't matter since I got bored and quit again. The alliance itself was rather inactive and I still haven't learned how to play the game at all. I only rejoined since they actually acknowledged my existence unlike IRON did in 2006 and the fact I forgot that ODN existed.

ODN (April 2009- Present): Same friend as before recruited me into the game, but funnily he didn't stick around since Yates lost his test and Merlin wouldn't mask him as a member- having a grudge against Merlin for a while. That friend eventually made a nation in GATO and later a micro, but I finally got involved in my community. I learned the game, made friends and contacts with ODN and its allies. I was happy to fight IRON in the BiPolar war since they rolled my last alliance. I eventually made a serious bid for a government position in July 2011 where I did two terms as a Senator and two more in 2012. I aspired to be SoS since I first joined the State Department in 2009, but never reached past Deputy since I was gone the month I was finally offered the position. Although I thought about leaving several times, something always puts that off and I stick around. I'm pretty content where I am as a Justice since it requires only occasional work and my interest in the game has waned somewhat to simply an observatory role in how it plays out rather than trying to be involved in its politics.

  9. I should've been more clearer that I meant *alliance* surrenders, not individual surrenders. And no, there's nothing "desperate" by pointing out that those few alliances who have chosen to engage EQ across the board (at least at the start, not sure of your strategy now as you're at about 45% PM) are getting decimated. This includes INT. And GOONS. And VE. And even Umbrella, for all their tech and damage output, are going down fast as well. Those who are fairing better are only doing so through PM.

I was beginning to think Equilibrium was going to need some reinforcements! There's still a significant reserve and the numerous blunders on the other side is only increasing the bravado even if things look bleak in numbers. When your opponents are doing funny things, it's entertaining even if your nation is being devastated. It wouldn't be the first time we had to rebuild our nations from a war given the frequency of them. Besides, the more mutual destruction the better.
