I'll take alliances that start with G that post angry pseduo-disbandments on OWF for 200, Alex.
Yeah, can we please kill alliances in nice official ways please? I'm tired of moribund ones. Either leave in peace or get together and wreck it the way you wrote it. -
Way to go Will Smith.
SWF still has an official protection order with the International. Enjoy the ZI.
With a heavy heart we took the news of the sudden disbanding of the Socialist Workers Front. Responding to this we'd like to announce that we will not accept any "free for all" attacks on SWF. Therefore the International would like to join our friends and comrades in LSF in protecting all those still flying the SWF AA for the remainder of the month. This gives former SWF members enough time to find a new home on planet Bob.
Signed,
The Congress of the International

So your sorry excuse for an alliance with your sorry excuse for a war will be an awesome excuse for a nuclear bonfire. Ole! -
San Jose approves greatly.
-
You may be empowered against totalitarianism, but are you empowered against mythology?
-
We thank the International for their gracious protection during this difficult transitional time for the Front.

Yes, I'm rather disappointed SWF couldn't dissolve in peace, rather than have a three-act kabuki play demonstrating why it didn't work out.
Le sigh. Thanks for everyone who's been supportive, I'm sure our leftist friends will have a chance at our members and perhaps be able to mould them into something better than we could. -

Hm, I was told this was going to remain unannounced.

That's horribly impractical given that there's still 90 nations that as of this point don't have diplomatic representation. -

The Red Curse strikes again
Sorry to see it didn't work out guys.
Thanks, we would have driven on but in the end we couldn't get a government together that would stay together.
Curse indeed. -

From the SWF General Congress
The General Congress of Workers' and Peasants' Deputies hereby places the Socialist Workers Front on indefinite hiatus until which a IIIrd General Congress of the Socialist Workers Front may be successfully convened and elect an effective administration.
Nations of the Socialist Workers Front are herein relieved of their obligated commitments to the Front and are released to depart to other alliances.
At this opportunity I'd personally (as an outgoing government member) like to thank our protectors, LSF; our leftist friends at The International, NEAT, UCR, and the Soviet Union; our friends-friends at the Mushroom Kingdom; and our comrades at Red Dawn. We hope to return at some point once we can collect a sufficiently active and invested member base and administration.
To all, farewell. -
I support this nutritional supplement.
Contains 100% of your daily value of plutonium. -
It is a brilliant day when the jungle thrives with all sorts of newcomers. Good show.
-
I rather enjoyed the informative diagram. We really should toss away overelaborate war flags.
-
Thank you all!
By the way, our incumbency rate is currently holding at 0%. Noob moves from Industry to Marshal and Ray from Interior to Chair, but overall nobody's got the same job as last time.

A Dispatch from the Front
Recently the Socialist Workers Front completed our third round of elections. New to this round is the position of a sole Chair (rather than two Co-Chairs) with a Vice-Chair to be appointed at a later date. Here is the III Central Committee:
Chairperson of the Front
Ray Matveyev
Marshal of the Front
The Noob
Commissar for the Interior
Rescindment
Commissar for Industry
MagnusTroy
Commissar for Foreign Affairs

In the name of arms races and worldwide tension!

Politics is politics is politics is politics. Even if you want to pin it all on Grub, at the end of the day there are plenty of people that want \m/ to stay dead for much more rational, less petty reasons.
Also, I find the moralist label to be about as relevant and useful as 'liberal' is in the contemporary United States. Given that the essay itself was authored by a former Vox member, perhaps the preachiest of the moralist alliances, I don't really see the point here. Moralism is a façade- when Vox disbanded you shacked up with privateers. If anything this seems to prove that everyone nuking each other back to the Stone Age is well-deserved.

Well you either go with a loose, confederation-style coalition in which nobody has real authority and negotiations tend to leave people out due to incompetence, or the more authoritarian route where a few selected standard bearers run the show, and people get left out due to personal feuds.
At the end of a day, coalitions all run imperfectly and are made for short wars because both routes suck out loud.

Arise, wretched of the earth
Arise, convicts of hunger
Reason thunders in its crater
This is the eruption of the end
Of the past let us wipe the slate clean
Enslaved masses, arise, arise
The world is about to change its foundation
We are nothing, let us be all
|: This is the final struggle
Let us group together, and tomorrow
The Internationale
Will be the human race :|
In the name of revolution The International was founded, for the blood of workers it persists.
Good show lasting a year, many more anniversaries lay in your righteous path.

Bump, in the name of the workers.

How many of those alliances allow their members to tech raid.
That's not really all that relevant to what I said. Protecting your realm doesn't entail being ethically consistent and ending tech raiding- it involves ending both your own tech raiding on your own color (I imagine every time you convince someone on your color to quit at least one person in your alliance loses a trade) and ending raids from everyone else on your color. Certain colors will always remain raid-heavy as they don't have much of a voice in the world, unless say there's a large bloc that decides to come together to end tech raiding (this goes from something I think is logical now to rainbow-happy-funtime territory).
-
I generally believe there is merit in large alliances like NPO, The Legion, IRON/TOP, Fark/MK, Sparta, whatever declaring their realms raid-free and establishing safe-haven AAs. More people on your team means more trades, more potential members, more connections for tech trading, more goodwill that comes in handy during times of crisis. Granted this hasn't really been tested on a full scale, but in the long run for single-color alliances I think there's a great deal of profit to be made (strange, given that tech raiding is all about profit to begin with) in stopping raiding.

CyberNations exists in an interesting economic realm- generally speaking money will be becoming less valuable because there's no scarcity (infrastructure, technology and land have no global cap; you're supplied with daily money that's not depletable; resources continue to have the same returns). However, there's essentially a price ceiling (or floor, depending on how you look at it), because there is a cap on aid per slot, and there is a very dramatic scarcity of aid slots.
Thus while the actual price of tech in a more laissez-faire society would have exceeded its current rate, because dealing in less than 3million/50tech bundles is inefficient, prices remain artificially inelastic.

And in typical CN Left fashion, Jamyl quit today.

To efficiency! Good show World Federation.

So sorry to hear that griefers have decided to take it out on your alliance. Best of luck in your newer, awesome home (as it it bros-made, it is awesome-approved).
