  1. Joined GGA starting out, was there for half a year, left with Jonathan Brookbank, joined Ordo Arcana, it merged into Jonathan's new alliance to become Trikymia Dominion, which merged with CORE to become The Dominion, which merged (was absorbed into) Monos Archein, until the big whatever happened and I left to join ODN. ODN lasted for a couple of weeks, but their refusal to enter the war and defend Polaris in the noCB war made me resign and join Aurora Borealis.

So, 7, four of which I had a choice in the matter, the other three through mergers. I'm a few days away from two years.

  2. I knew this announcement was coming, so I thought long and hard about what I wanted to say in response to it. Luckily for me, I remembered a certain passage from my favorite author, Matthew Stover, which I believe fits the situation well enough. Really, it just gave me an excuse to read an old favorite book of mine.

Disclaimer: I removed a bit of scene-setting from the passage, and like I said, I didn’t write it.

“You! You there!” Nom Anor called nervously in Basic. “What are you doing there?”

The answer was a deep, mockingly cheerful growl. “Isn’t it obvious? I’m standing in your way.”

“Stand aside. There are thousands of warriors out here! You cannot hope to stop us.”

“I don’t have to stop you. All I have to do is slow you down.”

A sharp buzzing crackle made Nom Anor jump. From the shadow’s hand sprang a meter long bar of vividly sizzling amethyst.

“You want me to move?” The shadow beckoned with the blade of light. “Come on and move me.”

The smoke thinned, and cleared, and the human within the archway didn’t look at all like the Ganner Nom Anor remembered. This Ganner wore only faded brown leggings and battered leather boots. This Ganner was tall, broad-shouldered, and the light from his weapon gleamed on the sculpted muscle of his bare chest. The blade in his hand was steady as the roots of a mountain, but it was not this that made Nom Anor hesitate, made him run his thin yellow tongue nervously between his filed-sharp teeth.

It was the light in Ganner’s eyes.

    He looked happy.

“There are thousands of warriors out here,” Nom Anor repeated, waving a futile fist. “You are only one man!”

    “I am only one Jedi.”

    “You’re insane.”

“The man’s answering laugh was deep and long and bright, full of joy and freedom. “No. I am Ganner.”

“He spun his shining blade in a dazzlingly complex flourish that illuminated the arch around him, making it shine like a rainbow frame for the pure, animal grace of his body.

“This threshold,” he announced through a happy grin, “is mine. I claim it for my own. Bring on your thousands, one at a time or all in a rush. I don’t give a damn.”

His flourish ended with the blade slanted before his chest, and his teeth flashed in the gloom.

    “None shall pass.”

  3. Ex-GGA member, joined 6/10/07, left sometime in November of the same year. Worked every position in the Ministry of Finance, eventually Minister, under MoFs Novus and Kaz, worked as an Internal Investigator under a variety of people, memorably MoIAs DerekJones and mydogti, worked as a Recruiter for the colors Orange and I think Brown under MoRs Jedi Chewie and Sognatore, and ambassador to RIA under MoFA Desius. Also became a Paladin. Mentored by Jonathan Brookbank, left when he was ousted. Fought a guy who was still nominally in Classic VE, fought FAN in the original FAN war and was Acting MoF for a lot of it (Kaz was out for RL stuff at the time) and was full-fledged MoF during the Unjust War.

I should copy this for the next time I'm relating my history to someone. Huh.

  4. I can't say I'm surprised that scotchwithrocks was apparently missing from the short, reasonable convo in the OP logs. He probably would've started calling Sogna a traitor and whatever the hell "scooter" means for not going along with his powertrip against DJ. Seriously, his personality looks acidic enough to burn a hole through this monitor. Note how every person he's talked to in the logs so far is no longer a member of GGA.

Not going to comment on the potential Smokey logs.

  5. I love JB as much as the next guy, but there is no way he's worth a war.

Anyone who you consider to be a friend is worth a war.

Personally, I'm curious to see if shaneprice has a scrappy, brilliant young apprentice who left with him. I suppose there's already serious déja vu going on, regardless.

  6. Johnathan got busted recruiting GGA nations when he formed his alliance, I forget the name thus he ended up on the ZI list. GGA members may or not remember, fact is there are still people that wont forgive.

Four days is enough when your in Vox, maybe you should try it sometime you may get more than 47k casualties :)

As the sole person to leave GGA with Jonathan during that period of time (for that reason, anyway), along with being one of the very few people to have heard the the viewpoint of most people involved in the affair, I feel uniquely qualified to respond to you.

Here's the gist: You don't know what you're talking about. In fact, when it was happening, virtually nobody knew what they were talking about, either. There were serious misunderstandings on both sides, which created a rift that has taken a while and a regime change to heal. It was the rift, not the original accusations (which have been discredited) which have changed.

Congratulations, Jonathan, for getting off the list. G'luck with Moo.

Congratulations, GGA, for taking an action which shows that the chivalry which has for so long been the spine of your alliance still exists.

Edit: With what Jonathan said in mind, I've edited the post a little, but I still feel that the info here is valuable, so I won't edit it a whole ton.

  7. Well, I'll always have interesting, conflicted memories...

Now the only GGA Trium. I recognize is degenerate108. Changing times, changing times.

Quick Edit: When the hell did I change my avatar to that? Must've been feelin' angsty one night. Ah, whatever. See ya, DJ.
