Definitely On the issue of Stealth craft...the Superpower can just station some of theirs in the territory of the ally in question. That ally still can't develop their own, but they will still be handy for defense purposes. As for size of nation...that cannot be determined until the scale of the map is more clearly defined.
I'm about to employ a golden bullet and nail all of the present issues, I'll submit it once I've worked on the kinks, get your input and adjust it (if the raves are justified) and then hopefully I can finally start work on my bloody nation lol.
2.
How are you determining these numbers?
Looked at the middle average wage for the top 20 countries in the world, the percentages I'll play with as I work this up.
3. Considering the briefcase had already been x-rayed coming through the airport and due to the sensitive nature of the documents inside both delegates refused to show said items to the underlings at the conference, as a result the Eruseans were refused admittance. As a result both men returned to the Erusean Embassy, the contents of the briefcase were destroyed and within sixteen hours both men were back inside the Erusean Confederation.
4. Again.. don't know. Determining your average salary. Avg Salary: 25,000 (feed this into the system below) Population per square kilometer: (if greater then 650 -15% Avg Salary and -5% percent per fifty persons beyond that) Tax rate: (If greater then Social spending -15% Avg Salary per 5%) Social spending percentage: (per 20% of annual budget Avg Salary goes up 15%)
5. Present variables for spending your GNP which will also effect it (still working on how though) Social spending. Infrastructure spending. Military Spending. Technological Development spending. + people per km Tax rate will also play a part (so I don't really have to worry about what kind of government you employ.)
6.
Government type really has little sway on the economy. It's government policies.
Government policies usually go hand in hand with government type. Edit: I think it would be rather obvious if I showed bias toward certain government types don't ya think?
7.
What about favorable bias towards yourself and your allies?
Gonna be a little difficult considering theres two other superpowers.
8.
Wait, by government do you mean your dictating our POPULATION and government type? I may be reading wrong, but I believe hats what you said...
Double post, No your population and government will have an effect on your economy, those two are completely up to you.
9.
How would you prevent bias towards communists, monarchies, etc?
Researching that.
10. Right now I have a few variables to play with, population, government type, and living conditions. Which will determine technological capability, military spending, and the difference between being North Korea or Great Britain. Trade will work to increase your GNP.
11. Pretty much, like I said I'm paying for not launching this with an economic system. Edit: Right now until I get it up and running the only thing I can do to keep things from spiraling is half measures.
12.
No one said it'd be successful. Fact is, they can get a 800 million man army. Really, you're only making this to make yourself feel all powerful. I've seen it before. You limit others so you get the advantage. You have special interests being the GM and a player. It happened in CNRP, and currently that person is perhaps the most mocked person to have ever been on these forums. Get your head out of your buttocks and allow people to RP and allow IC responses to rule the game.
With what I'm working up right now the success and power of your nation is going to ride on how much trade you conduct, how many other nations support you, the fact is the US or the Soviet Union wouldn't have been superpowers if it wasn't for the nations that traded with them (or in the SU's case nations they controlled). What I'm aiming to do is to tie everyone together along some lines so there is no non-consequential actions.
13. Do they have 800 million rifles? Uniforms? How long can they expect to maintain such an army? How long before maintaining this army utterly destroys their economy? The fact is just because you have a huge population doesn't mean you can have a huge military, even then having a rather large military has it's drawbacks. No nation on earth can afford to equip their entire armed forces with top of the line gear, smaller nations can barely afford to equip a percentage of their forces with the best equipment. The fact is at the end of the day not everyone can afford the F-22, the upkeep required to maintain it, etc. Edit: word fail.
14. Do you want one guy running around with a fifty million man army but only has a nation the size of Denmark? Edit: Basically all the issues right now are stemming from the fact this RP has no economic system.
15. Right now? Because they have nothing else limiting them.
16. I'll tell you when I get an economic system working. Edit: But I can tell you those who choose to be isolationist and hostile toward other countries won't be very well off.
17.
Sharing technology is an act of war? Might as well stop helping our allies military by selling them US equipment.
I was assuming you mean't prevent development of stealth technology IC.
Wrong. 1980's, the Pentagon started to fund a program for the creation of the F-22. During the 1980's, The YF-22 & YF-23 were developed as a prototype for the F-22. The Y-22 was chosen in 1991. Therefore, any person with good R&D should be able to develop something like the F-22 while still in the 1980's.
Yes the ATF program started in the 1980s and note the fact it took the US almost two decades to get to the production variant of the F-22, the technology that presently exists in the production version of the aircraft simply did not exist in the 1980s. So no you wouldn't be flying F-22s in 1989.
For example: Arieg is a bad RPer and has stealth technology because he says he can. IAT is a good RPer and does not have stealth technology. Who should win? The better RPer or the worse RPer with OOC advantages?
The fact is I launched this without an economic system, which would have dictated technological level and thus military capabilities, so now I'm rushing in the OOC to solve this problem. Because the fact is not everyone can afford to develop and produce stealth aircraft.
18. Because most participants in this would consider that an act of war, and actually 1996 with the JSF program.
19. What I was hoping to do was keep the technology limited to three superpowers, then as we moved toward the year 2000 one of the powers would kick off a joint strike fighter program because by this time air defense technology would have evolved to a point to were it would have the capability to at least counter stealth to some degree. At our present point in time (1989), theres nothing you can do to counter it. Which is why only the three largest and strongest powers would possess... since I can't count on the other two to horde it I'm just going to take the technology off the table until a later date for all involved parties (myself included).
20. Then how do you explain the fact the US has been the sole operator of stealth aircraft for nearly three decades? The fact is not everyone on the block will get stealth technology period, hell I almost threw it out do to the balance issues it would present. My ruling stands.
21. This is 1989 and stealth is still a very secret and guarded technology and since your willing to hand it off to everyone under the sun I'm afraid I can't allow you to have it.
22.
Stealth is something I'd hand off to a nation that relies on me for imports and exports, has a permanent defensive agreement with me, and is closer to the chief rival Yuktobania than I am. Not to mention that they're still a relatively powerful nation that I trust and have influenced in the past history.
Stealth technology is not to be traded, period.
23. Stealth is not something you'd hand off to a smaller country under any conditions, so negative.
24. Stealth aircraft is an animal I completely forgot about... unfortunately its also something which I doubt would be very good for the overall present situation. So for now stealth technology is limited to superpowers.
