    We get trolled all the time for our NPO viceroyship. Good stuff, huh? Mad respect for sticking through it. Not too many people can understand what a viceroyship feels like when they haven't been through one.

    As I understand it we're refusing to exit without the rest of our coalition coming to terms. But I'm not in the negotiating room.

    Also I have no problem with GATO being called in. Applying additional pressure during negotiations is perfectly valid.

    Gotcha. Well that's a lot better than I thought, but I still dislike it because I think Dave93 is guilty. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

    So I'm way late to the party, I know, but I have a question.

    Did MK tell CSN to back off and/or discuss this with CSN before declaring war?

    Apologies if this has already been covered earlier in the thread.

    Of the first 15 pages or so of the thread which I read, I saw a lot of posts about the defending side being hypocritical in that if an MK-aligned alliance did what CSN did then detractors of the current war would be expressing outrage. I feel like some would, but really the main concern I have with this war is the lack of communication.

    If MK had talked to CSN and told them to step off, I feel like MK would have much more of an argument here. They didn't (did they?), and so MK's actions are clearly simply expressing their desire to stomp CSN. CSN, of course, should have come and talked to MK, but the burden of initiating conversation falls on MK... any rogue can hop back and forth between AAs, as I seem to remember reading that Dave93 has done, and it seems to be that the bulk of the responsibility for communications to halt attacks falls on the alliance whose AA he is on, since the ones who have previously sentenced the ZI have a prior claim.

    In summation, it's not so much the attack as the communication issue that I see as MK's fault. Going to war over whether or not someone should be ZIed is one thing. I believe that Dave93 deserves his sentence, but that's not my main issue with MK's actions. Jumping the gun in terms of attacks displays a clear agressive motive, and that's the main problem I have.

    Another set of apologies if I'm being unclear, or if me not reading the entire thread has made me miss something. I have no qualms about retracting my statement.

Perhaps some would have left, but perhaps others could have spoken to him, changed his mind, worked things out in an amicable way. SOMETHING.

    However, that is not what happened. Bob and Joe proceeded in OOC attacks on Kait, attacks that he had subsequently said to me were partly in jest. No matter the motivation, those OOC attacks sparked an outrage among the membership that ended up where we are now. By the time I realized what was going on (remember...retired. RL issues) the forums were down, and only restored after Kait was contacted and had them restored herself.

    Adel is the Empress of Ragnarok. PERIOD. No amount of posturing by anyone changes that fact on the ground. Joe and Bob have no support in Ragnarok after what happened and though I wish dissent and Bob's mistakes could have been handled differently, it wasn't. Adel has the support of Rok's warriors and that is the only way you can lead.

    To MK, I know that you are not without reason. The Kait situation is a mess, but let's be honest: any raider that hit Kait, no matter the reason, was going to get nuked by Kait. You knew that when you came to her door. I sincerely hope that we can clear this mess up and, if you prefer, I will make myself available to assist in that regard should you think that helpful.

    Bob and Joe are smart guys, guys that I trusted and who served Rok well for a very long time. I feel no joy in the fact that it has come to this. In the end however, one must realize that a revolution has occurred. Adel, a member of RC for nearly a year, has taken the throne carried by the support of the vast majority of Ragnarok. She will find that the crown can be heavy, and I hope that she will have the strength for the coming trials.

    Not sure what can be done besides just leaving it alone. Regent Pancras thought about posting a retraction or something, but decided that the damage had been done.

    I don't know what it is.... Legion members just seem to have a 'special' relationship with the Big Boards. We're very aware of this internally.

    So to fix our PR fallout from this thread I should apologize for our government's reactions, right? Right?

    The apologies of the government for the actions of our members deeply disgust me. Immediate dissociation comes across too strongly. Words fail me. I've rarely been more shocked. Think of the children! WHEN WILL THE APOLOGIES END?!?!

    Don't worry, bro, I got this covered. Situation contained.
