  1. This was an alliance that existed for well over a year, Wing was the #2 at it's inception....are you saying he has no right to bring it back and exist peacefully ?

Of course not. But Fark has every right to stop him doing so as well.

But just creating TF! and just expecting a blank slate from Fark is kind of absurd.

  2. I'm playing a game. Why should I worry about what other people have to say about me having fun?

Questions, were you ever involved largely in any of those alliances? My best time ever in this game, and I'm speaking OOC, was while playing as Wingwhiper in TF!. It was non-stop action. Fun action that never got old and kept coming every day.

And in an IC sense, this was what my father, Wingwhiper, had always strived to be, was the leader of TF!. I may not agree with what the actions of the past are, but I'm a new person. A new leader. And I deserve a fresh chance.

As a character, I agree 100%. But alliances do not tend to get the same courtesy.

  3. For the record, Fark was under GOONS boot for the sins of their fathers. They hated that, they fought long and hard for the freedom they finally achieved. Kudo's. Now, by me forming an alliance, I've been threatened with ZI, for the Sins of my fathers. The same exact thing they stood against. The issue could be resolved easily, just by dropping it...

It really has nothing to do wth "sins of your fathers". If I made an alliance called "Better Order of the Paradox" or "Ragnarockandroll" or whatever, I would expect a less then kind reaction, probably even ZI if I refused to change it.

Likewise, if I named my alliance "LUE" or "/b/", I would expect the same treatment.

  4. Wow, Citadel is pretty much the least lucky Bloc in history. Every friend, ally, and member, has conspired against the Citadel as a whole, and the individual alliances inside it.

It's pretty shocking they are still alive.

  5. I don't know a lot about their history and this is intended to get a strait answer, has the ODN honored a treaty that might put them on the lossing side? other than the citrus war, I find that they cansell any treaty that would require them to defend an allie in a losing conflict, maybe I am wrong, but wiki doesn't have any such case recorded?

    ODN routinely gets beat.

    NATO, on the other hand...

  6. I'd like to revisit this post.

We entered by choice as part of an MDoAP treaty; doing so required the dissolution of a ToA.

Though I am neither able nor required to explain our government's complete rationale for this decision I'll give you my understanding in a nutshell.

We knew that IRON would honorably uphold their obligations regardless of whether or not they agreed with the CB. In the current war, IRON's entrance would inevitably pit them in conflict with our other allies.

IRON acknowledges that they are drawn by treaty into this conflict and they understand that Gremlins are among a few alliances truly capable of withstanding the force of their upper tier.

Gremlins has both a contractual and strong moral obligation to prevent the decimation of our other allies.

If IRON were permitted to enter the conflict without our obstruction we predict significant damage to our MDoAP allies.

Furthermore, we have little faith in the leniency of the New Pacific Order with regards to surrender terms (and our Codex reflects our position on honorable terms). Thus our prediction was that IRON's involvement unopposed would lead to both excess short-term damage in the form of lost infra and excess long-term damage in the form of the continued hegemony and practices of the New Pacific Order over our MDoAP allies.

As such our action here was a logical and moral necessity.

We accomplish two very important goals:

    A) We oppose the destruction of our MAoDP allies

    B) We demand fair and fitting treatment to IRON during and following the conflict.

Without having been present in the meetings I can only presume that IRON government fully understood and empathized with our position which is why they permitted the immediate dissolution of the treaty.

Lastly, we all witness some unusual behavior in the cyberverse:

The only DoW I have ever seen in which members of both referenced alliances acknowledge the dilemma and hail the other

A clash of the titans in which the truly largest nations among us all go to war

Enemies that may very likely seek to immediately reinstate treaties following the conflict

Wow. Well said. You should have posted this 15 pages ago :P

  7. the dude said he was posing

So? Unless they give you specific permission, 90% of alliances will still defend a poser, if only to defend the name.

Though Ejay is probably not posing. Clever Ejay, sucking in a target like that.

  8. I get the same impression, which is why I don't understand these apparent blunders being committed by the Superfriends. Vox has set it up so that moral high ground can be held against tC, but SF are letting it somewhat slip away with that lottery lolz thread and the KM (not so much though) stuff. This will be my first Great War and I'll probably not even participate, but I'm interested to see how the conflict evolves. Mostly I'm interested to see if the Citidel stays together. That is the crew that I think has the most potency and a terrific identity. It needs to recruit Vanguard and then we could just end the game.

I doubt that will ever happen.
