  1. Old math around these parts. Just about every old alliance has that list Rupert shows. Probably created around 2 years ago and is now chiseled in stone on the library walls over every large or old alliance. I joined 600 days ago and it was old news then.

But for any player more than a few weeks old and not ZI'd then just set it to 28% and forget it until you buy your SSS wonder.

Yes, my alliance has it posted, but that doesn't mean that the math's not irrelevant. I still want to know the math.

  2. Test things out. What you are looking for is the most in taxes. Since you can change taxes infinitely (in theory) many times a day, look at the Avg. Individual Income Taxes Paid Per Day $138.73 field in the game with each percent. Even try those at like 28%. Because happiness only correlates to money in this game, you don't have to worry about the bad effects of lowering happiness as long as your nation is getting the most money possible.

  3. I made a little program a while back that resulted in a small margin of better bonus from happiness than keeping the population. It is, however, based on where your nation lies. The happiness isn't as nice a bonus when you don't have all the improvements increasing percent of income, for example.

Basically, what you are looking at is the following:

    (Civilians-0.02*#ofBW*Civilians)*(TaxRate/100)*(Gross + 4*BW*1.05^(#ofSchools+FM)*1.07^#ofBanks*1.02^#ofUni) < = > Civilians*(Tax/100)*Gross

So you could manually, or with a script, loop through this, testing each border wall count.

  4. Hello. My nation is the Scorpian Empire, and on 3/19/2008, I received an aid package of 50 levels of technology from yankees ruled by ToddHoward.

I noticed that my technology was exactly the same as before I had accepted the package, 631.13, so I checked the nation sending me the aid. This nation had >200 levels of technology. Then, I thought that it must be something where I have to pay my bills before it comes into effect. I paid my bills. However, I still did not receive the 50 levels of technology.

Therefore, I post this. I either want confirmation that this package was never received or I want to know that I am absent minded.

    Thanks.

  5. You always get a population increase. It's just as you reach the 12k point and beyond you face a breakeven point where the taxes paid by the increase in citizens no longer exceeds the increase in upkeep on the infrastructure. Where that point is depends on your resource build and what economic wonders you have.

Improvement swap can also bring this break even point farther back.
