My hunch is that most of the bashing is being done because individuals want to suck up to Xiphosis, as opposed to further insult the OP. I find it hard to believe that as many people would be so outraged were it a lesser well-known player whose fictional stories displayed publicly on the internet were made fun of.
Vasuda's apology seems sincere enough which is commendable and I hope that he isn't as silly as to mix OOC and IC again in the future. -

Don't rely on others for your excitement, make your own. I'm sure you can think of something to occupy your time... be creative. There is no rule that says that you have to sit around being bored collecting taxes and paying bills until one of the big cheeses finally decides it's time for a bit of a bust up on the battlefield, so get to work and find out what kind of effects you can have on Planet Bob.

It is absolutely fair when those few are the leaders who are representing you to the world. To ask me to personally get to know each and every Legion member before making a judgement is plainly impractical, as you well know - it's a nonsense suggestion designed to detract from the fact that one of your top guys, who should be improving your image, is actually just embarrassing everyone under the Legion banner out here on the world stage. As far as I'm concerned, if the other 99% in your alliance are the salt of the cyberverse as you suggest, they would not be propping up jerks in leadership positions.
The Legion as a whole isn't blotting it's own copybook, it's one of your leaders. And because leaders represent the members, that's when it turns into a big deal. -

Looks like he's passionate about your alliance and wanted to defend it against what was pretty much a whole thread just taking the piss out of your sanction. Okay, so he was a bit brash and insulting to others in the process which makes him (not the alliance, but him, the individual) look a bit silly, but it's hardly catastrophic.
Frankly, your own posts are much, much worse. Going to gag yourself and make yourself pay a fine? All I ask is for a little consistency. -

Quite right too. I will never pay a fine for speaking my mind either, not $1 nor 500 tech. The actual amount (humorously draconian though it is) isn't the point, it's the principle of you guys enforcing gag orders on your members and then going on insane power trips when they - amazingly - don't agree. It's become clear pretty quickly that the Legion is out of touch with reality when you lot refer to those who don't accept limits on their ability to speak openly as 'insubordinates' who need to be punished. -

What complete nonsense. Here's an idea out of leftfield - if The Legion doesn't like people talking about [b]their[/b] dirty laundry, they can clean their laundry! If they have problems within their alliance they should put more effort into sorting them out, instead of simply trying to prevent everyone in their alliance from talking in public, lest one of their members lets slip about how the alliance is rotten to the core or whatever. -

Got to laugh at the desperation of the MK members in this thread. "Quick, someone outside of our sphere of influence is being congratulated for achieving something, find a way to bash them STAT!". This need to constantly snipe at alliances on the other side of the web (particularly the ex-Hegemony alliances... wonder how long they'll attempt to keep these tired old grudges going for?) has not only become rather tiring, but it's starting to seem rather forced.
Maybe it's your way of deflecting from insecurities closer to home guys, I don't know, but it's pretty lame

Utilitarianism in pips is boring, stuffy and outdated, and has rightly been done away with. Having colourful and interesting works of art brightening up what is otherwise a rather plain forum is more important than the further and unnecessary satisfaction of basic utilitarian needs, because those needs are already satisfied by a very purposeful and very dull Alliance Name box. Not to mention the fact that you can always check on an poster's nation to find out their extremely important details - it might take 30 seconds but if it's such a big deal to know this stuff, then that is no time at all. -
A pacifican jackboot footprint represents your history and values well, so nice choice. Is it a statement that you won't change the way you do business, regardless of pressures, or am I reading too much into this? Also, yay for non-rectangular pips.
It would be good to see some 'losing' designs too, so we can all give you a hard time for picking the wrong one. -

I wouldn't even go as far as to say that he crossed the line at all, from the logs we've seen so far. Skippy and some cronies round on this one guy in his channel and start baiting him, the guy plays along for a while, lawling and loling to show he's not bothered, before banning them when they get too stupid. Seems fair and is probably what I'd have done in the same situation too.
To try and turn someone making a your mum joke and lol'ing at a bunch of guys acting like dicks into a serious insult about cancer, using your own mother in real life as the pawn, is the thing that I find most distasteful here. -

I disagree. If we have boneheaded racist hate-mongers in our midst, I want to know about it, particularly if they are the leaders of a group in this game. It seems to be your wish to stop this being a big issue for your alliance, so I'd suggest that a good first move would be to give up on the current attempts to shut this topic down. Defending the accused (which you are tacitly doing by trying to control the topic against the apparent victim and in favour of the accused) without providing any substance other than 'it might hurt the alliances image for this thread to continue' does not look put you in a great light.
Instead of simply stonewalling the discussion and trying to get everyone to keep schtum about this or else, it'd make you look better if you were able to say how the allegations were dealt with and what action was taken (if any). Can you do that?
