So they didnt want to try to be innovative and fail, they didnt have the balls to tell their friends they weren't their friends anymore and dumped their long time friends in their bloc. That's better.

Lol what? You must have not been in RoK long then.

Ragnarok had a treaty with MK for ages. I remember when RIA found an MK spy in RIA and SF/CDT began preparing for war with MK (At that time MK had barely any allies and little to no political influence) the treaty with RoK is the only thing that saved them. It was going to be cancelled, but Hoo gave them a chance. RIA also wasn't really a blood thirsty aggressive alliance. I do remember though when MK was fearful of the RIA attack and they came to our boards. Then they became arrogant and poltiical after the Karma War.

I really really would love to have seen the world if SuperFriends/CDT crushed MK back then. That was the first event I ever saw in my CN history and remember it vividly. I remember DontTaseMeBro making a long thread about it in 2008-9 and looking back on it. I wish I could find it to refreshen my memory.

If that war had of happened, MK would have either 1) Never gotten half the political power they did or 2) Would have disbanded at the site of loss. Either way, it would of been awesome.

Though these days there is no doubt MK will downplay the situation and claim they were tuff guys the whole time.

    this is very wrong

That treaty was carried over from the Vanguard merger.

  2. 300-350 doesn't sound bad .. A little amalgamation .. There's only 91 alliances with 20 or more nations in it (carrying on in agreeance with Bob's 'more 10-20 alliances would not help') out of 415 alliances on the in-game list (180 of which are one-man AA's) ..

And this isn't a statement, to White Chocolate's point, that all small alliances are bad.  Small alliances can have their place, but recognizing your alliance is quite frankly, shit, and moving on to learn more rather than just keeping a <500,000 strength 15 man alliance running seems to be more productive. There are exceptions where a 10-20 member alliance can be ok obviously, but its definitely not the norm.

I think it's kinda sad that MI6 poaches, because their poaching can often kill many small successful micros. Let's say that MI6 did successfully poach you from SRA, then CN would lose a micro that is doing very good for itself.

It would actually be a better thing for the game if MI6 succeeded.

Best of luck to MI6 with killing micros off going forward, its a noble task.

  4. In regards to stagnation of the game, I really think that what needs to happen, is that new alliances need to be made, because that was one of the things that really made CN fun in the beginning, and by new alliances, I mean alliances made by new players, with little guidance by the bigger powers. If new alliances were to rise up, it could help to more diversify the world and make it more interesting.

..just no.  We need to get rid of 350 alliances or so, and then go from there (maybe 300).  Cut back, scale up the leadership within alliances.  More 10-20 person alliances would not help the game.

    No.

    No.

    Stop.

    No.

This. I might have been out of town, but as I said through PM, had the situation been reversed I'd probably do the same thing TEPD did. No, we don't harbor rogues, but when one was taken under our flag we're responsible for that regardless of the circumstances. The buck stops with me, period. It shouldn't have happened, but actions have consequences.

No one should be upset about this at all. As far as I can see the situation has been resolved. Time to move on.

Respect for this gentleman, don't think anything else is really needed here.

I don't think getting C&G against you is what NG would like. Your other allies already came to me and showed support and solidarity with me personally. You called me bluff and I showed you logs of this. I would talk to Hershey and your allies before responding in the future.

To summarize a response: You are wrong, and have no idea what you are talking about. Continue on with the !@#$%^&*.

  7. My opinion of sengoku is almost singularly derived from my feelings about auctor. I'm not sure what this means for my opinion of sengoku, I find it confusing and difficult to specify further.

Sengoku is Sengoku, Auctor is Sengoku.

Your active members on the OWF will almost always be perceived as the face of your alliance even if they aren't in government.  Just the way things work.
