Nope, ODP has optional defense clause included (believe it or not from it being called an ODP), ODP is upgrade from PIAT.

You shouldnt really have to be stating to people about this but i guess some people are just too dumb to check up on alliances.

I always cringe at the ODP. I hope this works out for you guys.
The success of failure of an ODP depends on the alliances who enter into treaty, in this case Argo and Sparta have known each other a long time and have the respect amongst one another to come to the others aid if requested and needed. At the same time it allows either alliance to not get involved in what it sees an uneccessary war, to put in words, not drag either alliance into others war if they dont want to be there.

Me and my friend play CN at a public library sometimes so we can talk to each other instead of having to send pm's all the time. We tried to trade because we wanted a trade with each other resources, we play on the library network and the game says the trade is deleted because of suspected cheating. I was wondering why it was doing this when it is pretty evident that we are two completely different people. That is all.
You are not allowed to have contact with another nation that is on the same network, the actual rules are only one nation per Network/IP and of course with yourself and friend logging on at public libary you are having 2 nations on same network/IP.
Basically you cant trade, aid or declare war on same person.

If you are certain you have recieved no email for reason your nation was deleted, are you sure your nation wasnt deleted for being 20 days inactive?

In Lord Sharp's case, it appears my brain isn't working. Thank goodness for IRC logs. I am the one that cleared him to join Gramlins on 9/19.

In Lord Sharpe's case, I'm not sure who released him. We are in the process of finding that out now. GGA has not released any POWs in this war so far.

I really think that whether a POW is released or not has to come down to a case by case basis, of course this may cause more work, but there are some POW's who did not deal much damage and surrendered in early stages of the war, such as in Lord Sharpe's case where it would seem he was released from being a POW due to him not really causing alot of damage.

@sooner - Please read the OP properly, plasmo clearly states his reason's for wishing to be released as a POW. You are correct though that there are alot of benefits being a POW in that you get safety and are allowed to rebuild your nation.
@ lord Sharpe - As you said the fact that you didnt really fight in the war would of meant ~ being more willing to release you from POW status

from looking at your nation, i suggest you get at least 3 month of playing experience by JOINING an alliance for protection and looking around a bit, trying to understand the global politics in here and get a bit knowledge of how to run an own organization and how to deal with foreign diplomacy. new ppl creating fresh alliances without background knowledge will most often end in the meatgrinder sooner or later.
Couldnt have put it any better, you really do need to join an alliance first so you can get to learn the ropes of CN.

Barth, why are you trying to get involved in this matter?
It does not concer you what so ever whether alliances decide to remove there signiture from the DoN unless its your own alliance, let this matter be resolved between those party's concerned.

You obviously havent read the rules correctly, it clearly states only one nation may exist on each IP
