  1. My time has come. CN has turned into what I suspected it to turn into. NPO was won the game (that was apparent a long, long, long time ago). But what I wanted to prove is that they are ruining it for everyone else. But it turns out that there are thousands among thousands of yesmen. Almost every alliance has become afraid of them and what they can do. Even Vox Populi, has been degraded into somewhat "fearing" the NPO.

    What people do not realize is that this is a game that is not to be taken seriously. It is game that is meant to be played for fun, yet people cannot come to comprehending that. I sacrificed my nation to show people that. I tried telling people the hypocrisy of their acts. Yet they do not listen. They cannot put the nation of others before there own, in a game designed to make the "strongest" nation the winner. CN is a truly a unique game, in that you have control of everything. That is what people don't understand.

    So goodbye CN.

    I haven't always agreed with every single thing the powers that be have ever done either. However, there are ways to be the change you want to see and ways not to be the change you want to see. For instance, messaging TOOL's Applicant AA and telling them to attack GGA or messaging higher NS level TOOL nations claiming to be TOOL gov and telling them to declare (although you never actually specified on who) is NOT the way to enact change. How can you expect to get help, even from anyone who might actually agree with you, when it's quite clear from your tactics that you'll stab them in the back in an instant if you decide it profits your "cause"? There are those among you who are fighting for something they really believe in and are willing to sacrifice every last [OOC]pixel because they believe the game they have played[/OOC] and loved for so long is dying and that this last, desperate clawing at the fabric of Bob just might save it and even that slim chance is worth it. Those people have something to hold their head up about. You, on the other hand, as represented by your "behavior" in the last 17 days (or however long you've been alive now) is pathetic. When you play the "look at how noble I am because I'm sacrificing myself for the greater good" card, you actually have to be noble to gain the respect you're already claiming. You're a yes-man too, just on the other side.

  2. I was going to go find Doitzel, just because this post made me laugh, but he's not on right now.

    As for the topic at hand, yes you walked into the first truly large scale war we've had in the better part of a year. It has, in fact, been building for even longer. You can trace the root of this current war back to mid-Summer of 2007. It's been building since then, especially in the past few months. CN is very far from a hack 'n slash, which will become apparent as you flip through its history. The game has changed quite a bit in its politics, but it hasn't actually deteriorated as most claim, it's just different.

    Old CN was built upon two major sides in direct opposition to one another sniping at each other until war would break out. This resulted in (comparatively) frequent battles between large numbers of alliances that generally broke off as the losing side attempted to get out and rebuild to avoid total defeat and the winning side let them to avoid taking major amounts of damage. With the conclusion of the Third Great War, one side was entirely put out of commission and we entered a period of political upheaval as the other side rushed in to try and fill the half of the seat of power formery occupied by their vanquished opponents. This ultimately caused a great deal of internal strife and friction within the winning group, resulting in wars like the Green Massacre and, finally, the Unjust War.

    Following the UJW, politics stabilized into the current form with the creation of the Continuum. For all intents and purposes, this is an alliance bloc that is unchallengeable in power. For this reason, politics is now roughly based on positioning within the treaty web. Rather than two distinct sides, there is one massive blob within which a good deal of jockeying, feuding and general mischief abounds. Instead of provoking the enemy until someone strikes and sparks a massive war, politics now consists of isolating your enemy from the general web while mustering support for yourself. When someone accomplishes this successfully, it results in what is commonly referred to as a curbstomp, in which the alliance being attacked is overwhelmed by massively unbalanced odds. Usually these wars are small, with only one or two alliances on the short end, but this one happens to involve a rather large host of defenders.

    You walked in to the one hack and slash in a world of surgical wars, basically. It's just very poor timing on your part. Good luck with the history, though. It's pretty fascinating.

    This is certainly one of the best responses you will get. It is unbiased and fair. Politics dominates CN.

  3. thats the stupidest thing ive ever heard, you dont thank someone whose destroying youre nation. you try to get even

    He wasn't being serious in the sense that anytime someone gets attacked he recommends they throw a party and do nothing in return. He was simply pointing out, a bit facetiously, another way to look at it. Since strawman can do little to nothing about his present situation being that he is vastly outpowered, rather than just sit and sulk (not that he was necessarily doing that, just as an example) he can attempt to take on this other perspective that there is something to be gained from the event, experience and knowledge, even if the pixels of his nation are dwindling.

    Lastly, I'd like to point out that this is a ridiculous gravedig.

  4. Hehe, TOOL has always had a aurora of mystery- first the amazing recruiting now the amazing curse; it's hard to explain.

    We do love our curse. Also, caek. :awesome:

    edit, to be more on topic: Wow, our curse hit MA hard. They're calling it "internal issues/matters" but we all know what it really is.

  5. TOOL passed Nueva Vida by the way updater!
    Right now, you're only down (-0.23). (These stats are straight off of the "Display Alliances" page. TPF is back on top of FOK, Sparta in front of MHA, and WTF in front of TDO.)

    @ Willem, do you mean Monos Archein?

    Edit: Forgot to add the bloody quote I was adding. <_<

    Yes, he's talking about MA.

    Here's where we're at atm.

    TOOL: 16.73

    Monos Archein: 16.59

    He meant Nueva Vida. We have since passed MA as well, but at the time of update, we had only passed NV. HipHopHarry simply overlooked it and didn't mention it in the Passes of the Day, so Willem was bringing it to his attention.

    From the update:

    14 Monos Archein: 16.51 --> 16.59 (+0.08)

    The Order of Light: 16.47 --> 16.52 (+0.05)

    Nueva Vida: 16.52 --> 16.05 (-0.47)

    And the current stats are:

    The Order of Light: 16.74

    Monos Archein: 16.59

    Nueva Vida: 15.99

  6. o/ Defcon

    o/ the Light

    Legio X, I don't even dislike you. Not sure I've ever heard of you but once before now. But attacking our friends is like signing a contract with us in which you've agreed that you won't be leaving the field with all of your limbs intact. Shouldn't have signed that contract.

    For friends!

    For the Light!

  7. LOL, there was actually a few minutes once about a month ago where I was worried about this. The longer the days went on, the more and more I doubted. As your claims became larger and larger, the more I doubted. Well, sir, today I must thank you. You have erased every and all speck of worry or concern. Bring what you have, if anything, and we'll have a go at it and we'll see who ends up begging for peace. I'm almost embarrassed that I wrote this a response to this, and my first post at that.

    It's not because of your political persuasions that I want to destroy you, it's just because it's clearly inevitable that you'll be eliminated from Planet Bob sooner or later, so I'd like to get to raise my hand and say I had a part in making it sooner. Good day. :awesome:
