    Yep. I just threatened a non-existent phantom alliance. My empty threats against an ethereal "enemy" make me exactly like people who I criticized for actual deeds. Oh lord, how will I ever sleep at night? I have become what I most despise! The torment! The agony! :)

    If you say so but as ephie said there are some people in their that genuinely want to play the game, so you saying you will destroy them for existing because of their past crimes/ideology is a far more cruel fate than this war.

    USA will still exist at the end of this, three monthes down the road you will not see VE or OV members chasing them with pitchforks.

    Bring them on. I'd be more than happy to see them crash and burn again. In fact, I look forward to the day that their corpse is resurrected so that I can help put it into the grave again.

    Incidentally they did have a protectorate GDA who dropped them, they are also part of a pact that is thus far not honoring its treaties so if you would like to poke someone Starfox i would start there ;)

    It will convince the USA's administration to actually do something to prevent this in the future because as stated they do not see this as a serious matter when others clearly do.

    It will also serve as a demonstration to the FA departments of other alliances who have members participating in similar actions (they are out there) to clamp down on them hard.

    Its a little brutal but this is no tea party is it :lol:

    Veneke deterrence is a well known and effective method of preemptive defence, especially as Toki himself states this is an ongoing problem. One that has not been solved by your own solution in the past and i am willing to bet after this will never happen again ;)

    For deterrence to be effective there has to be a credible hard threat and those threats must be carried through regardless and well here we are.

    Lesson for the day: Don't let your members raid/go rogue bad things happen.

    So after all that anyone want to share this bottle of Jim Beam?

    Ho hum well insulting is insulting my friend, personally again i have seen worse and could do nothing about it (hell i used to be the GPA MoD i got my nose tweeked by people every day of the week). But our allies choose to do something about it and we support them in that decisions and so for the reasons stated the United Socialist Alliance is being comprehensively re-educated.

    It happens this is a realist world and a realist game, those with power will exercise that power when you poke them. C'est la vie

    Personally i am laughing because everyone wants to take the high road and argue with me on new years eve :huh:

    All my friends are either interstate, out of the country or hanging out with a guy who hates my guts AND i have to lifeguard at 10am tomorrow morning, so yeah whats your excuse :P

    I did read it.

    A ) He knew about it and sent the raider a message to stop it.

    B ) He stated multiple times that he was willing to pay reps for what happened.

    Are you really going to endorse a war over not informing an alliance of a raid on them?

    Evidently i am, If a CPCN member raided someone you would be on their channel as soon as you noticed and as others have pointed out we don't know when said message was sent or even if it was actually sent.

    Ok so here is the crux of the matter USA wasn't going to approach OV at all, he says that right there, he was going to wait and try too dodge the bullet.

    Bad show OV, VERY bad show.

    A ) knew about the raid and did not stop it until approached.

    B ) was planning on not being approached so he could avoid the consequences and said so (very bad idea)

    In short, not the worst diplomacy i have seen in this game, but its certainly up there in the top 20.

    EDIT: @Veneke: we all know raid procedures, we all deal with them everyday there is no argument there but when someone flat out comes out and says "yep i knew, i didn't stop it and btw i was hoping you didn't notice kthnxbye!" people tend to get a little annoyed.

    I can't see any insult from USA to OV, other than what I stated earlier, in that they didn't go to them soon enough. Not really an insult to go to war over, if it's even an insult at all. Wouldn't you agree?

    I believe you have misread that actually, USA did not go to OV at all they initially had to be approached through their protectors GDA who then eventually got USA to respond to OV.

    Then in conversation with OV the USA's president stated that he was planning on OV not approaching him at all so that he could avoid the consequences of one of his nations attacking OV, which he was aware of.

    Personally i find that pretty insulting and extremely naive. As would you if the same happened to the 57th.
