ARTICLE 1: NON-AGGRESSIONE
Both signatories agree not to attack, or commit and actions of espionage on the other party. Such actions are regarded as a breach of this treaty. ARTICLE 3: MUTUAL DEFENSE

Try clearing your DNS cache. If you're in windows, open cmd.exe and type in ipconfig /flushdns. Make sure it's run as an administrator.

That didn't work for me (had already tried it), but it's working again now after speaking to broadband provider. They didn't give me a clear answer on what was wrong, but it seemed to have something about their outgoing connections or something.

I worked it out a few days ago but could only confirm it today -66,-111 is the 100% spot however to actually get 100% you need to input this
    lat: -66.00000001
    lon: -111

The reason for the .00000001 is to take account of floating point errors (someone worked out all of the latitudes that are affected by the floating point errors in the Moon Hotspot thread).
Confirmed!

    -66.00000001, -111 = 100%

The in game coordinates shows up as X being exactly -66.00000 but the 0.00000001 NEEDS to be added for it to register as 100%.

  5. I think most people agrees that the resources that gives you an population bonus is the best resources, these resources effectively gives you two benefits, first the normal benefit and then the increased population. The increased population means you can build improvements faster and get more tax collections in addition to the normal resource bonus.

Another way to go would be to aim to get the "dirty" resources as native resources, that way the resources does not count towards your pollution levels unlike the dirty resources that you import.

    Thanks Sande.

I tried to search, but I was unable to find a good search phrase that could work while eliminating all other mentions of coordinates and mars hot spots.

  7. The biggest problem is that no one finds CN and start playing it by themself anymore, most of the current players have been recruited by someone to come over and give CN a try.

What we need is a better front page. We need to show of how the game actually plays and the fun we have on the forums.

A few "cool" pictures of nukes, tanks and planes just don't cut it.

The sample nation helps a bit, but let's face it it really doesn't jump out as something you just have to try out for yourself.

Another thing is that for a new player that somehow finds out they want to sign up for CN probably won't stay around for that long since it does not seem like anything is happening. Just a few wars around the world and most nations appears to be 1-2 weeks inactive. Many of them don't even know that there is a whole world of activity on off-site forums and that what seems as inactivity in CN is actually part of the game play. A lot of new players only manages to find themself one trade before they get bored and goes 20 days inactive.

  8. Yes population boosters are the best resources since they in reality gives you double the bonus.

Not only do you have more people so you get more tax payers, but more people also enables you to build more improvements so that you get the improvement bonuses too.

More people also alows you to have more soldiers, that means you get to have more tanks as well.

So not only do you get more improvements, but you get ecconomic and military benefits as well.

  9. Wouldn't a few extra anarchy penalties do the trick just as well?

Self anarchy do comes with some penalties, like being unable to declare a new war. But that really isn't a big problem.

The only reason self anarchy is so effective right now is that anarchy is not something people care about. So what if my nation is in anarchy, I got a war chest and unless I have been stupid and not saved up enough I can just wait it out without any ill effects on my nation.

If there really was anarchy in your nation, you as the ruler would have a hard time to get anyone to do what you want. You can't really expect people in anarchy to build a new barracks to help out in the war efforth if they really want a new school instead.

In anrachy you as the ruler should not be able to do any civilian tasks like building improvements, infrastructure and other changes. You would have a hard enough time to find out who in the military is still loyal to you. A result of that could be that you can only do half the attacks you normaly can do (1 GA, 1 CM and so on).

To top it of you could even have your people taking control over your nation and start doing something stupid like using your war chest to buying land or somethign.

  11. Yes, the chances of you slipping unnoticed thru all the tech raiders until you are large enough to take care of yourself are very slim, and as noted previously you will have to test out game mechanics and find out the best strategies by yourself.

So the short answer is; yes even thought this game is called cyber nations it realy is cyber ALLIANCES.
