That was supposed to be a tail. I didn't really think much about relative positioning, and other then having PB/C&G in there and a few others I remembered being in the war, I realy had no message here. Strictly for fun. ^_^ If I had thought about it I might have been able to make it a touch better, but people seem to be able to come up with plenty of zingers along those lines anyway.

I like the text in that second image, even though it is likely recycled. Used proaganda is best propaganda!

  2.
constructive criticism: create a clear and coherent image that someone can look at and see in less than a second what it is. Make sure your text is short, pithy, and readable. If it's dialogue, make sure it sounds like something someone would say. If it's dialogue from your "bad guy" make sure it sounds like something they have said.

Tell a simple story. If it's a single panel and it takes someone longer than five seconds to understand what's going on, they will just be confused by it. If you're constructing a metaphor, make sure it's one people will recognize. Use words only to support the text. If someone has to read the caption to see what's happening, you haven't communicated well.

If you use multiple panels, have them tell a story. Make sure each image and each word is necessary.

Don't name your characters in their dialogue. People don't announce their names before they speak.

Remember that propaganda of this form is a visual medium. You're trying to create something that people feel, and feel quickly. The longer it takes, the less effective it is.

If you're making it funny, make it actually funny. Nothing kills a piece of propaganda more dead than a failed gag.

In short, make it punchy, quick, and simple. Create an iconic image that sticks with people.

Your various pieces fall down on essentially all of these scores.
If you know all that, why aren't you making some propaganda? Also, I still think HHYAD's is better then that GATO monstrousity earlier in the thread.

You are more full of garbage and pretension than anyone who's ever arrived on this realm, hands down.

I rarely look at a poster's starting date, but seeing this comment made me look at yours. I see you've never met Walford, back in his prime posting days, just as one example. Dr. David Banner ring any bells? Schattenmann is far from the worst poster who has ever graced these forums, even if you really don't like him.
Don't you get it!? This is all some awesome strategic move from the greatest military and diplomatic mind that Bob has ever seen and will ever see! We plebs just can't fathom the awesomeness of Schattenmann and have to deal with a mere shadow of his greatness lest we go blind from his brilliance.

Somehow I have a doubt that NPO has handed over the planning of their war strategy to an alliance leader I'm not even sure they hold an ODP with.
The thing is, all the big nations on that side are whining that they don't have anyone to fight. Let them whine and whine, no one really cares. It pretty much cuts them out of the war and evens the odds.
This is true, and I hadn't even thought of it. If they keep this up for months the TPF-Athens War is going to be a mild disappointment by comparison.

Voodoo is the type to listen to his friends, listen to his enemies, then go home and make up his own mind. He is practically a sphinx sometimes. :P Just being in a channel is reason enough to condemn someone now?
It's posts like these that just make yourself and your alliance look foolish. If you took a poll of somewhat neutral (everyone is connected these days) I know you'd find that FAN is still very respected militarily, just like your own alliance is.
As a somewhat neutral person in regards to military affairs, I would agree with you. I've seen people comment that they were a little rusty in their first War after they got peace, but most everyone seemed to agree they were at least competant. I'm sure they've improved since then too.
Notice, we have only acted this way towards NPO, and that's only because they continue to stick to their old habits. It is brave new world. All the alliances that would have been rolled with NPO as head honcho are prospering.

The fact that you haven't been in a war, does not mean that you have changed. You haven't been in a war because you haven't had the chance, or the strength to be in one. And until you show that you have changed, for real, and that you want to reconcile, you won't get that chance either.
What old habits would those be? I thought I was paying attention to the forums since karma, I must have missed a lot. What exactly is this 'change' you keep referring to, that you want to see?
You are wrong, and let me show you why.

TOP was the bogeyman, allied to NPO, we are now allies
Umbrella was the bogeyman, allied to NPO, we are now allies
FOK was the bogeyman, allied to NPO, we are now allies
ODN was the bogeyman, fighting with NPO, we are now allies.

I am sure that even you can see a pattern here.
...you want them to be your allies? Is that it?

Edit: re: the OP- I for one enjoy seeing the niceties taken care of, and a DoW post from Mpol is always worth reading. I was surprised you didn't make this thread sooner, going all low-key and letting DoomHouse take the limelight didn't seem in character.

  12.
It seems like everything is a constant PR war. Moralist trumpeting is everywhere. Few are willing to be seen as the "aggressor". Almost everyone professes to want war, but only a defensive war which they face no risk by fighting. It's gotten to the point where major wars are almost impossible to instigate. Bipolar was generally a fluke in how it went down and expanded.

Another problem, and yes I know my alliance is responsible for this in the last war, is very large reps figures that increase the recover time after a war and keep alliances out of play. When reps take 6-9 months to pay, that is going to keep those alliances from doing anything during that time, and generally keep people from moving on until after that.

We were ready to enter. We, both in MK, and the community in general, were bored to tears from almost a year of no major fighting. This game was going downhill due to inaction. Moralism and cowardice had collectively smothered the conflict that drove it. Either NPO and co were going to enter and people on each side were waiting for the other side to enter first, in which case this was just a short cut to something that was taking obscenely long to happen. Or they were deliberately staying out. If they had stayed out, that would have been a nail in the coffin of this game. It would have set a precedent of cowardice that would have made major wars even more unlikely and inconceivable.
I see more complaining about moralism then any moralising. Maybe we are reading differnt threads.

It's not just the reps,it the deliberately punitive and malicious reps, that strip an AA of all of their tech at the top tier. That can set you back a year or more. Hamstringing your opponents, and then complaining about how they are not wanting to fight/putting up a good fight is pretty disingenuous. I bet Polar could have had better results their last couple wars if they had not had their top tier's tech gutted in NoCB.

Only attacking when you have 2-1 or better odds could be considered cowardice too. It's why I never fully bought into the Karma rhetoric; they never moved until it was a sure thing, and meanwhile bad things kept on happening. If they had really been fighting for a cause they would have gone when they saw they had a chance, not waited for the sure thing.

I disagree that NPO staying out would have been the nail in the coffin. That sort of thing has happened plenty of times before; FEAR during the Illuminati war anyone? Frankly, if it had been allowed to happen by MK's side, that would just have meant another war a few months after the current one revolving around Polar/VE finished it's course. That would have been bad how? There was still every chance both sides would get dragged into the current one, which was fun to watch, and in the meantime as Doch already pointed out we had one of the closest wars we've ever seen. This wasn't fun?? I don't think that wars are all that fun, it is the maneuvering around, watching to see who honors their treaties and who doesn't, who signs with Hoo, who backstabs who. It's one big giant soap opera. :)
I never wanted to see that thread again. :awesome: Thank you I think it was rather brilliant as well. Considering what happened there are apologies and reasons all around and less awesomeness. But there was a lot of glory. Unfathomable glory for all sides if NpO hadn't shown to be...well...real dumb.
TOP's version of The Big Lie. "We would have won, if only Polar didn't betray us!" I listened to a lot of the people on your side in that one, and they had no such confidence, in fact many of them were downright despondant at the odds facing them. How you have managed to turn that into this rosy view today is beyond me.

  13.
Also d34th, I'd like that picture a whole lot more if you actually drew it and didn't put a bunch of alliance emblems on just to show who is who. I'm not attacking your work as a whole(I love most of your sigs) I just personally feel that that kind of propaganda has been done to death. You know what I mean?

I'm still waiting for my slice of the "You are retarded" pie. My word, everyone goes after Marx for what he's done because he's screwed up in the past; how about Margrave and I? We were both equal conspirators in this.
It's the job of the officers to keep the ship running, keep the morale of the troops up, and come up with ideas, no matter how hare-brained they might be. It's the job of the Leader to pilot the ship, keep the officers morale up, and make sure any bad ideas don't snowball into bad actions. I don't see anything in those logs about Margrave or you that puts you in a bad light Chief. You two were just doing your jobs. I'm not trying to make Marx out to be a terrible person either, Keeping \m/ in line sounds like a full time job at the Zoo. :P

It doesn't work quite as well as the original, as the chicken in the original was a TPF reference.
Of course, but the whole idea of hatching a rotten CB makes it work. I could not figure out how to draw any halfway decent stink lines above the egg so I eventually gave up. I should have put "CB" on the egg and left it at that, but I didn't think of that until after I had already posted it here. :(
