    A treaty cannot make an unjust war a just war. If there has ever been honour in fighting for GOONS, this war definitely isn't such a time.

    [/quote]Cluster headaches and migraines are two different situations. They are similar in some ways, but very different in others. Men and women can suffer from both, though migraines are more common among women and cluster headaches are A LOT more common among men.
    Since I am a man who is lucky to suffer from both, I can educate you about the similarities and differences between them, if you are interested.

    Personally, I have never considered treaties a necessary condition to legitimately enter a war and while I believe in honouring treaties as a rule, I don't believe in them as carte blanche for your treaty partners and can easily imagine situations where I would oppose honouring a binding treaty. In essence, my view is that a treaty cannot morally justify fighting for the wrong cause and fighting for the right cause does not require a treaty.
    Also, the e-lawyering notion of "a treaty giving a valid CB" is really strange, IMO. It basically means that alliances are expected to accept what they would otherwise consider being wronged because of a treaty they have no part in (for example, if VE's cause in this war is just, NpO's treaties are not VE's concern and therefore the attacks of NpO's allies on VE and its allies are illegitimate from VE's POV).
    What treaties are good for, IMO, is to serve as a deterrent and to give some kind of a framework for cooperation between alliances.

    The idea that you are morally obliged to stand by your friends when you strongly disagree with the morality of their actions is morally twisted. This is what enabled the worst atrocities this world has seen.
    This poor excuse has been so often used that it became a commonly accepted idea that treaties take priority over any (other) moral consideration.
    Now, I like FEAR and I am 100% confident that they are sure that they are doing the honourable and morally right thing in defending their allies in NEW and joining a war in which defeat is almost guaranteed. I respect them for that. However, if they share what seems to be the common sentiment here, of great displeasure of NEW's actions that brought them this situation, FEAR is wrong in this.
