It was 2 weeks after the failed assassination attempt at King Kristian I. The last few days reports were coming in that the 30 year old King had barely survived the assassination attempt. And now we go to a live broadcast coming from the hospital, apparently the king will be making a statement. An empty stage with a low placed microphone on it was shown, in the background the Swedish flag was shown. A wheelchair with a battered man was rolled onto the stage, you could see he survived a hell of a battle of sorts. The gathered reporters responded shocked when they recognized the man as the once so vital young king. A male nurse in white clothing placed the microphone in front of the king, and then removed himself from the stage. What I am about to say will change Sverige for ever, but the events in the last few decades have shown me that we need to change the way we do things. There was a rawness in the Kings voice, he sounded tired but his eyes glowed with a fanaticism of a men who had seen his life flashing away in front of his eyes but survived nonetheless. I will not bow down to terrorism, I will not leave Sverig in the hands of tyrants, in the hands of fascists or communists. The people of Sverige deserve a country that is a country of all Sverigs. Every mountain and river, every pasture and farm, every factory and house. That is all Sverige. I will not let people use brute force to take that all away only for their own benefit. From today onwards Sverige will become a democracy, we will organize free elections on state and municipal levels. We will have a fair justice system, a transparent representative democracy governed by the people and for the people. We will maintain a status of neutrality concerning foreign matters that are none of our business. I believe that we are capable of making friends in this world without the need for stern talking, without having to deal with dictators and tyrants. I do not believe that a full membership of the CEU and all its aggressive politics fits into this, but I will leave it up to the Riksdag to decide about this issue.' Furthermore, I am a firm believer in a strong army to defend our neutrality, and to deter any threats to that neutrality. Therefore I will continue to advocate a strong and modern army. We will be independent, strong, but also fair and just. I will be overseeing these reformations the coming years, and when I feel it is time I will hand power over to the people. Rumors went around that the Sverige ambassador in the United Netherlands had been called back. A voice was heard, 'Niklas get that camera right, I want this to be short'. Then then camera moved around, and the focus was restored. It was directed at King Kristian I, dressed in a casual t-shirt, sitting on the deck of his Royal Yacht. Behind him you could barely see that the yacht was anchored in the harbor of Koper. 'Dear citizens of Sverige. I know you have been following the war in the HRE on the television, I know you have been wondering, whats the opinion of the king about this? Let me be very clear, I wanted Sverige to be able to exist in Europe without war, without oppression. And I wished the same upon all other nations of Europe. We have been friends with Bavaria for a while now, we have supported them, and they have supported us at numerous occasions. This friendship carries over to the Holy Roman Empire, In fact we were in negotiations about a treaty with the Holy Roman Empire. And then the Vultures of Europe descended upon the Holy Roman Empire, the weak nations that mistake imperialism for neutrality, the ignorant nations that mistake ignorance and arrogance for bringing peace to Europe, the militaristic nations that mistake waging war with diplomacy. Make no mistake Europe, one day all will be held accountable for the errors they make. But today is the day that Sverige joins the fight. We join on the loosing side, and therefore we will fight till death parts us from this world. We do not fight to win, we do not fight for victory, we fight because there is no other option left, because once again, Europe has betrayed its self. We enter this war on our own, and only the Holy Roman Empire can tell us to declare peace. I call upon all Sveriges people, do not stand by idly, to join the war, at home and abroad. And so it ends.
