Rebuilding Empires

The war had been lost? Well, not if you were in the Aether Empire, I mean think about it. The Nation of Nod had expanded, the Aether Empire won a major air battle against Somal and Somal itself had recently fallen into complete anarchy with many people suspicious that Von Zepplin and friends may have had something to do with it. Sure this was hardly reality and reality would comment that the Aether Empire forces failed to repel DE naval units and a consecutive land invasion of it's northern soil. Von Zepplin also had nothing to do with the anarchy in Somal in any means or way. It would have commented that the Aether Empire leadership pleaded and cried like a little baby surrendering at the last moment in a way that was hardly manly even though it was put in place with a plan... but reality doesn't comment, and ultimately it was a win-win because the war was likely considered won by both parties involved.

The people of the Aether Empire were quite happy about the anarchy in Somal, especially after that nation so graciously attacked them while they were surrendered. So, it was with some happiness they accepted the return of their former leaders (but there were certainly many reserverations given how easily they seemed to surrender). Ultimately though, those who control the media, control the hearts and minds of the people, and the support of the Vons gained one crowd, while their "consideration for the lives of the public" stated by the former leaders would gain a good portion of the others. Anyone who fell between the cracks wasn't worth all that much anyways, and should the plan fail they could always resort to a backup underground government with a top level police state run by puppet leaders.

This stated, there was an important issue on everyone's mind, the rebuilding of the infrastructure attacked during the war of the Aether Empire.

The Vons were of course interested in rebuilding their military fortifications and structures taking the lessons of the war to heart. But Zarfef and the people were interested in the rebuilding of their day to day lives. There was the issue of the local air-port... vaporized in the long range missile strikes by Somal and other facitilies of importance. The goal though was not simply to restore what was lost in the ashes, but to expand.

The nation instituted a large network of banks which acted to fuel and drive the economy with loans and government money controls through the acting major industry, Tensor. Medical facilities went up and the hospital at the main capital was restored and expanded for the populations needs. The harbor was being put back together piece by piece and houses were returning to the burnt down landscape... there was also another new addition... an arena of sort, or maybe coliseum was a better word. The building was being constructed in the western part of the city and there were many people wondering what type of sport would be hosted there.

Roads were also being cleared of mines and restored back to the neighbors of the Nation of Nod and Raochin. Tensor offered services, technologies and equipment as they became available in the Aether Empire for construction and the Aether Empire was offering out contracts to Raochin and the Nation of Nod for many of their own projects as well.

As boring as all of this seems, it was a simple statement... in the Aether Empire, the reconstruction effort brought on by the end of the war was under-way. Life in the Aether Empire would soon return back to something closer to normal.
