king of cochin
From: The Kingdom of Cochin To: Imperial Union Greetings, From the brink of war our two nations have reconciled to peace as equals. We wonder if we may build upon this to create a more durable friendship. Would Imperial Union send a diplomat to Cochin for discussions of matters of mutual interest? Sd, HH Rama Varma, The King of Cochin.

king of cochin
"Our two nations have quite recently been in a war which thankfully did not escalate into a shooting war. However past conflicts need not define future relations. We would like to know if Imperial Union would like to establish better diplomatic ties with the Kingdom? Cochin has one of the largest markets in Asia for your industries and Cochin industries would like to gain access to Imperial Union's markets." "The Imperial Union has come to the conclusion trade with more than 1 Asian nation is very profitable as such we are willing to sign a non aggression pact and establish fixed tariffs lower than they are at this moment to promote trade. However due to our domestic policies we are not ready for completely free trade yet. Our economy has always worked on preserving local markets complete abolishment would be troublesome." "Of course we would not like to impose any conditions on your internal economic policies. We shall mirror the tariff rates applied on Cochin products to Imperial Union products introduced to Cochin markets. That should reasonably assure a level playing field. So may I assume that we have agreement on a Non Aggression Pact and Preferential Trade Agreement? Perhaps if you have a draft proposal we could set this agreement in stone now itself!"
