Tibetan Orphanage Update

Firestorm

I've been going twice a week now for nearly a month. I think I've begun to understand some of the problems that the kids at the Orphanage are facing on a daily basis.

First, they have no central heating. In the winter it must be brutal in their building.

Second, the majority are unregistered with the Chinese government. This makes it impossible, if not dangerous in my opinion, to seek out government services and support. Not that a Tibetan would be very likely to do so, but in the event one of the kids decided to do so they'd be hard pressed to have any luck with such a venture.

Third, most of the kids only have two to three changes of clothing. They look as clean as they can manage under the circumstances, but in the winter without central heating or an water heater they must be under some pretty unhygenic conditions.

Fourth, their artwork seems to be their only stream of income. It scares me to think that an entire group of people are being trained as artists. Not that it is a bad thing, but the idea that these kids will be trapped in their circumstances by not only the government but also as victims to a very whimsical crowd of buyers scares me. Who can tell what the future will bring for these young artists?

Below I've posted my own future contributions to assisting with providing solutions for the problem. I'm looking for artists and such to create the graphics needed to produce a quality textbook.

suggestions are massively welcome.
