The Global Defense Initiative

The Global Defense Initiative is an alliance within the Blue Sphere, consisting of dedicated, loyal nations that seek to establish themselves on the scene. Based upon a Meritocracy, it combines the best elements of a representative system, with the leadership, and strong features of an Meritocracy. Blending Nationalism, and Peaceful coexistence, GDI hopes to provide for all its members and provide an excellent environment where your nation can grow, be protected, and contribute in any manner of alliance/inter-alliance politics.

OUR CHARTER

Charter of The Global Defense Initiative

ARTICLE 1: The Global Defense Initiative ( GDI ) shall be established, this day, November 29, 2007, as an official Alliance of nations residing within the Blue Trading Sphere.

ARTICLE 2: It’s nations, which make up GDI, shall not engage in any aggressive war, against either an aligned, or active unaligned nation. The Punishment of such an infraction will be as follows:

a) First offense, the offending nation will be forced to pay Reparations, + 20% Infrastructure Damage Cost.

B) Second offense, the Offending nation will be expelled.

ARTICLE 3: Tech Raid will be allowed, based on a policy of nations who are unaligned, and inactive for a minimum of 6 Days or More. Peace will be declared if the nation becomes active, and reparations will be considered.

ARTICLE 4: GDI is to be considered a Meritocratic Republic, and it’s leaders chosen on the basis of dedication, activity, and contribution to the alliance.

ARTICLE 5: The Governing Legislative Body will be entitled the High Council. The High Council is comprised of any member who has proven a dedicated, loyal and contributing member of GDI. Laws are voted on by a simple Majority ( 50 + 1 ), and must be signed and approved by the Chancellor. Any member wishing to be considered for entry into the High Council must be in the Alliance for a minimum of 2 Months, and must have proven merit worthy of acceptance. Special dispensation is given to those seeking entry in times of low membership.

ARTICLE 6: GDI shall be lead by a Supreme Ruler, the Chancellor. The Chancellor is charged with directing and guiding policy on behalf of the membership of GDI and to ensure to continued stability and strength of all its constituents. The Chancellor may appoint members of the alliance to serve in any capacity as he sees fit.

ARTICLE 7: There will be 6 Ministries within GDI to help facilitate the governing of the alliance. They are as follows:

a) The Ministry of Interior

B) The Ministry of Exterior

c) The Ministry of Trade

d) The Ministry of Finance

e) The Minister of Defense

f) The Minister of Security

At each of these ministries, a head minister will oversee and direct all the operations of these ministries, as he or she sees fit, on behalf of the Chancellor. The Chancellor appoints each minister to his or her respective ministry. The Chancellor may remove any chancellor if he or she feels that they cannot complete their duties.

ARTICLE 8: War cannot be decided without a clear casus belli, and a majority vote within the High Council, and the approval of the Chancellor. Peace can be concluded only by the Chancellor.

ARTICLE 9: GDI will not represent, or be a front to any ideological faction on Planet Bob, and will remain neutral unless threatened.

ARTICLE 10: The Global Defense Initiative, based on a history of peace and the maintenance of diplomacy, GDI will strive to work hard towards reducing petty wars and struggles. It will, however defend its members and friends.
