Some were set for their own little displays, some shopped at only the last minute for fireworks, some decided to just watch others from their homes, some went to any local shows that were being set up...and some deciding to sit inside and watch the national show. The show put on in Darwin began precisely 15 minutes before midnight... The last three and a half-minutes saw the climax to the show begin, accompanied by the national anthem to make it that much more stirring... and it ended with half a minute to spare before the countdown... 3... 2... 1...
