The Poverty of Philosophy

Imperial Center; the crowned jewel of the Americas. A massive city sitting astride the s-shaped curve of the heart of the Holy Imperium. The city herself is the largest ever constructed on the surface of earth; covering a huge area of roughly 40,000 square kilometers. A highly advanced public transportation system consisting of underground concourses, subways, sidewalks, skywalks, and other forms of conveyance allow the 45 million citizens occupying the city and it's surrounding metropolitan area to go about their business on a daily basis.

Ever since the incident where a Zombie plague broke out within the crowded city, buildings had been re-certified with construction permits stringent enough to prevent another pandemic. No expense was spared; every building was proofed from EMP pulses with rudimentary Faraday cages open in all but specified circumstances, earthquake resistant construction techniques, and new building materials making doors and windows much more sturdy.

It was likely the most naturally fortified city in the World.

At this city, waiting in a conference room stood the Master of the Imperium, Kevin Holihan. His people thought him a god walking amongst men, an avatar for all that was perfect with the world. He felt all of that responsibility as he waited for the guests to arrive concerning his latest idea, an international economic center.

'Well, it can't be too long now.' Kevin thought to himself anxiously. Across the street was the Imperial Axis of Aeronautics, the largest of the cities' 5 airports. It catered to the largest of planes and the more important visits by esteemed individuals. It was to this place that the diplomats would arrive.

OOC:

/Jed drinks glass of water

/He spits the water out in surprise upon reading that Imperial Center had over 45 million people, which he didn't know before

/His laptop is short-circuited as a result

:o

IC:

The Master didn't have to wait for very long; the doors to the Conference room opened, and a certain figure entered, more like rolled in by a personal aide. It was Secretary of State Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who grinned when he saw Kevin Holihan. "Hello, my friend! It's good to see you!" The SecDef held out a hand for Kevin to shake.

OOC: It's a huuuuuuuuuge city. :P

IC:

"Good to see you, Mr. Secretary." Kevin was careful to use his hand without the artificial fingers and shook the figure's hand with care. It would never due to accidentally crush the fingers of an esteemed foreign diplomat, especially one representing his primary ally.

"I would ask you to take a seat, but it seems you are ahead of me." A wry smile accompanied the slight jest, and a twinkle appeared for an instant in Kevin's solitary natural eye. The artificial camera continued with it's baleful red stare.

"Now, we are just waiting for the junior partners in this little construction expedition."

The Minister walks towards the transport with his Personal Guard/Translator and embarcks for the Building.

The Minister arrives, and makes his way to the Conference room.

As they are walking, The two converse in heavy German, about off topic things, such as the country and other issues.

Kevin's slight smile faded as he eyed the newcomer with curiosity impossible to notice beneath his professional facade. The Empire of Krieg had much in common with the Imperium it seemed; their diplomat wore a black coat similar to the Imperium's officer uniform.

"I hope you know either Imperial or English, translator."

The Minister stared blankly at the Leader, but Yugo quickly exclaimed in nearly perfect Imperium (with accent):

I speak very gut englisch und Imperium, my gut sir. Hovever ze Minister not so vell.

The Minister nodded as Yugo translated the Imperium's leader greeting, and he happily shook hands with the Man, who was curiously dressed in a Similar Imperial Uniform. The Minister's eyes lit up. He sees a strong friendship in the future.

OOC: So huge that it makes New York City look like a small town. :P

IC: Roosevelt chuckled. He was about to say something when several figures entered the room. Turning his head around, he saw the newcomer was dressed similiarly to Kevin. Roosevelt assumed it was the representative of the Krieg Empire and grinned.

The Imperator switched unconsciously to English, as the man's accent would make understanding the almost musical Imperial Language difficult. He also did so out of common courtesy to Secretary Roosevelt, whom he doubted spent the time learning Imperial.

"Very well. We are awaiting any additional guests, and after they arrive we shall begin."

OOC: Well, it's on the most important canal in the world, in the center of a massive empire. It's gonna be BIIIIG.

"The Carthaginian MoFA, Abdelwahab Abdallah arrives in the conference room with his translator and says:" مرحبا ، يسرني أن يكون حاضرا في هذا الاجتماع مع هذه سادت."

His translator quickly translates:

"The minister says, greetings, it is a pleasure to be present at this meeting with such fine gentlemen."

"The Minister shook hands with the Kriegian, New English and Imperial leaders and greeted them all warmly, then sat down and awaited the talks to begin."

Donegan pushed open the conference room doors. He wore his usual sleeveless leather vest and dark jeans. "It is an honor to be here," he said in a somewhat uptight voice. One could easily tell that formality wasn't his forte.

The Minister raised an eyebrow at the man, seeing his somewhat barging in and informal attire. He hoped that these talks wouldnt contain harsh feelings or exchange of words.

Nethertheless he put on a smile, and shook hands with the usual warm German curitousy.

OOC: Is this thing by invitation only?

OOC

Yes, to the nations who are going to be using the Mareia islands off the coast of Africa, which were taken by the Imperium after the University went AWOL.

So far, New England, Carthage, Empire of Krieg, New england and possibly Lubeck in the future are going to colonize these islands. However you can ask the Imperium to beable to lease a Trade colony on the islands.

OOC: Anyone else can walk in while we're discussing crap.

IC:

"Please, be seated." Kevin shot a glance at the New Englander in amusement before taking his own seat. The table's surface rippled before shifting into a top-down display of the Islands being built upon. One button-touch later, the current zones shaded in followed by their estimates of completion, along with important sub-projects estimates for time.

"The technology was derived from a model HUD display we received from nanolabs a few months ago," the Imperator continued almost conversationally. "It represents a marriage between Imperial Cybernetics and the best hardware available."

"Moving on," he continued. "The purpose of this meeting is to discuss any questions concerning the islands, design and construct transportation between zones, investigate the possibility of new members, and then open the island for business."

Minister (German): The Empire has fully understood all terms, we have planed Housing units, corporate buildings, a main Office for unofficial meetings. We also have clearance to build a small Military barracks to house peacekeeping forces, as well as a Port-Town to import and export supplies and goods to and from our mainland Empire. We also have an Airstrip under construction to help with shipping.
