Triyun
British forces in concert with the British Doctrines to the British Isles have landed in Ireland. The state has been found in a state of severe disrepair, we have begun operations to stabilize the isles and have taken them as British protectorate territories. Triyun
Belfast has been largely supportive of the British presence, with Unionists in the North holding celebrations of a return Union. In Dublin the reception was decidedly more mixed. Many of the people in Dublin were open to the idea of the Stuart Monarchy with its historically good relations in the Irish, however, they were decidedly more mixed about Parliament. Francis Urquhart's Conservative Party in particular was met with suspicion by some of the working class. Negotiations for Irish entry into the UK would depend in large measure on devolution and parliamentary representation.
Triyun
Ireland: Elections in Ireland for a local parliament had gotten underway. Presently the Irish were voting between four major parties, the Irish National Party, which was split between catholic oriented Christian democrats who favored a personal union with Britain under a Stuart King under the condition he accept Roman Catholicism, Labor trade unionists and democratic socialists, the Conservative Tory party favored by unionists and protestants, and the Liberal Democrats often favored by the urban elite. The polling in the election would happen before the votes on formalizing the entry of Ireland into the union, as well as electing parliamentarians to Westminster. Triyun
Ireland was now moving towards the phase of joining the United Kingdom. The First Minister would be chosen from labor as part of a unity government, the goals of which where to ensure that the Irish would become a fully represented body within the United Kingdom. OOC: had a crappy net connection when I first made this post, check the edit for date, before it was I think a quadruple post 6/7 Edited September 25, 2014 by Triyun
Triyun
Ireland's elections are in with the mainstream parties garnering 60% of the total vote with 22% labor 15% Tory and 18% lib dem. the nationalists received 40% of the total vote. The parliament in Dublin is expected to see the formation of a unification government by the mainstream parties deferring coalition making with the nationalists till after unification. The nationalists have moved to try and organize some protests, which London says are permitted under the constitution.
