[OOC: Sorry about the wait on this JED.]

[IC:]

Maxime Lafayette, a middle-aged woman who had served as the Foreign Minister since Michelle Broussard-Doiron had become the Lady Protector, would arrive on a simple Cajun Federation governmental aircraft. She would fly alongside members of the growing technical and military mission that the Cajun Federation had begun in Noveria, and would be escorted by only her aide.

She would arrive at Nadrink shortly after being invited to Noveria, as usual, punctuality took precedence, to the Cajun Federation and its' government.

When Lafayette, her aide, and technical and military experts arrived in Nadrink, they would be greeted by honorable Noverian officials at the airport, along with a small group from the Noveria Republican Guard. The Cajun technical and military mission would be driven somewhere where they were needed, while Lafayette herself would be driven to the destination.

At the meeting place, Director Nadilso Amorim was waiting along with Daniele Favalaro and several aides. Amorim was fairly young for his position, being in the mid-thirties. But despite his age, he was very experienced in foreign affairs, having served as the Ambassador to the former Republic of Texas. And it probably helped that he was related to the late Celso Amorim, who had served as Minister of External Affairs in the Kingdom of Viniland long time ago, and inherited his skills.

When he received notification of Lafayette's arrival, Amorim was impressed at her punctuality, something that he admired in people. As he waited for his Cajun counterpart to arrive, midst slight nervousness, Amorim mused to himself, with some amusement, that he was about to meet someone who represented a nation who had taken over, and annexed, a treaty partner, one that he once worked in.

When Lafayette arrived, Amorim greeted her with a warm smile, wanting to make the right first impression. "Welcome to Noveria, it is an utmost honor to meet with you. Thank you for coming, and we look forward to furthering relations between our two nations." He said as he offered a handshake to Lafayette. Favalaro greeted Montecalm as well.

Once everyone was seated, Amorim began, "As Mr. Favalaro have informed me, we have chosen to convene here as to set the basis for official talks that would further a more cooperative relationship between our nations."

"An honor to meet you as well, Director Amorim," nodded Lafayette, she shook his hand and smiled warmly. "I must thank you for your arrangements of transporting us here after our flight in."

She was happy to have Montcalm meet her directly before the meeting, exchanging notes over the recent progress of the two countries' relations, and Montcalm's own suggestions for a new cooperative agreement. As they got seated, Lafayette listened to Amorim attentively, before responding.

"That is correct, I believe the Cajun Federation, and indeed, Noveria, would benefit from a more formal diplomatic agreement between our two nations, to solidify this new defense arrangement and the technical expertise we are now giving Noveria," nodded Lafayette, taking a sip of tea from a cup after her aide poured it from a thermos they had brought from the plane.

(OOC: Sorry, TSS)

Amorim nodded. "I agree with you on that. Although we currently share Embassies in our nations' capitals, I feel that the time has now come for Noveria and the Cajun Federation to transcend the stage of...diplomatic acquaintances and come to a more formalized stage of our relations, to becoming friends and perhaps more. Once again, we cannot thank you enough for the defense and technical assistance and expertise that you are providing us, we will repay the favor someday."

Amorim paused for a moment to allow the words to sink in before continuing.

"As a precursor to more formalized relations between our nations, I have in mind something of a peace, intelligence, and aid treaty (PIAT). In such a treaty, both our nations would respect each other's sovereignty, assure the current state of peace between our nations (a NAP to some effect), provide mutual aid (financial, military, diplomatic), and strengthen cooperation through intelligence-sharing. Naturally, this proposed treaty will have a cancellation clause." Amorim said with a grin. "So, what do you think? Do you have any suggestions?"

Lafayette conversed quietly with Montcalm for a moment, before turning back to Amorim with a polite smile.

She nodded, "I think that such a pact would definitely be useful in slowly formalizing our diplomatic relationship. It is understandable that, considering Noveria, and indeed, Ursaline, did not always agree with the diplomatic actions of the Cajun Federation. To slowly formalize our relationship, I feel that such a treaty like the one you described would certainly ease our two countries slowly into a more formal diplomatic arrangement, over the long term."

Amorim nodded silently. "So we have an agreement, then? Shall we put it into ink, or is there something you wish to address before continuing on?" He inquired politely.
