  1. Not surprising. :P

NpO is basically staying neutral due to conflicting treaties. Typically, that's the honorable thing per the custom and tradition of Planet Bob when an alliance has treaties that tie them to both sides in a conflict. For that, I salute NpO and AlmightyGrub.

But I have a question, what would NpO do if STA attacked someone and then was attacked in retaliation?

Read section #4, the attacked AA would have a valid CB for warring with STA... But, you still risk a very grumpy polar bear.
  2. FAN,

while I admit to drawing my own meanie face on your Kwanzaa card...

You guys were the best opponent I've ever encountered, tenacious, stubborn, good natured and willing to fight!

When other Pacificans belittled you, I stood up and said exactly the above and expressed respect for you.

I even joined you for awhile on the moon.

    FAN, nice thread.

In response to this thread and your awesome Gun Pron, I give you mutual reciprocation... MORE PRON!

  3. And if your mind was set on leaving NPO for friends in NSO?

If their reasoning was "we're in a war that you'll never be needed to fight in". . .

. . . you would buy into it and stay in Pacifica?

Chile, you seem like you have strong opinions, but people like you have a fatal flaw. You fail to see the other side. To the people who want to leave, the reasons they are being given to stay hold as much water as a sieve (because they are weak).

Face it. The motivation behind the "lock-in" is political. NSO is feared, thus, NSO's growth must be hampered.

I strive to see the other side... In order to understand or debate something/someone, one must try to know either side as well as the other.

I would simply wait until the alert level fell to one more appropriate in which to tender my resignation.

Just as some I know have done, they were ready to leave, the flag went up, and they simply said, "Guess I'm not leaving till this blows over."

They have respect, integrity and discipline.

  4. I will nit pick all I wish. See bolded.

Hopefully this can teach you some of the English skills that you missed out on. Maybe then you'll be able to take on the "traitors" more competently.

:o OHNOES!... Dont rap me knuckles wid da ruler agin teacha... Ooooowwwie!

Weze has us'a English teacha in our midst :P

  5. I think what people are questioning is the very fact that the sign was lit. It's not as if NPO was in any danger from all the 100 NS nations, especially taking into account that Jarheads is at war with around half a dozen alliances as well.

I publicly, within our forums, inquired just that, incredulous that it warranted such.

But while I may pose questions and disagree sometimes, I follow the letter/spirit of the Order's traditions.

As I said before, "...in my black and white view...."

As for all the cowpies about how Pacificans voices/thoughts are stifled, shoot, I speak my mind regularly and my comrades know that no one will change my mind once set without some dagblasted good reasoning.

  6. It doesn't get much lesser than this, especially when there's no targets in your range and no risk to your alliance.
Irregardless of the overall situation, the Open Warfare sign was lit... I make no allowances.

They deserted during a time of Open Warfare, nit pick it all you wish... Have fun.

  7. Six wars or six thousand wars, the NPO has been in a state of war for well over a year now, meaning that by Moo's latest decision, everyone who has left during the Vox and FAN conflicts are traitorous scum.
Has no concept, nor wishes to have any concept of the differing stages between Pax Pacifica and Open Warfare in the NPO.

We are not always in one particular stage, even when there are various ongoing conflicts with various nations/alliances.

Had they left in one of the lesser, I would have either wished them well, or told'em not to let the door hit'em in the buttocks.

  8. NPO wars tend to last for months after their opponents are soundly overwhelmed and beaten. Or they just don't ever end. I'm guessing that the NSO will need to look elsewhere for members for quite a while.
The 'Open Warfare' tag will come down way before 'months' pass, and then the ever present reality of perpetual warfare in a lesser status will allow us to continue in our day to day affairs (such as resignations from the Order) without such hateful warmongers as myself calling for the blood of deserters :o
  9. Just because something has the ability to pose a threat doesn't mean it will. TOP or Gremlins, say, for example, could pose threats to the Pacifican hegemony should they want to, but that doesn't mean they will. The same is true with Ivan. I think it is quite clear that he wishes to be neither with your nor against you. He's neutral. If you view him as, and treat him, like a threat, you may end up forcing him into a position where he may have no choice but to be a threat. A self-fulfilling prophecy to an extent. I see no reason for you to have to go down that road.

I never said that Ivan poses a threat, my comment was in jest of the quoted material which I was making a joke of.

I do not fell threatened by Ivan, nor the NSO, could care less at this point.

At this point in time I harbor no ill will towards Ivan, and even have rethought my hostile kneejerk reactions to his and ES's coup.

I definitely do harbor ill will towards those I feel deserted their comrades/alliance, regardless of the intensity of the aggression.

  10. So, are all the nations who have left in the last year traitors for leaving during the FAN war?
No, if they left in something other than State or Alert or Open Warfare, then I personally give'em a pass, care less really.

But even something this small has the possibility, however small, to escalate, and hence, no one should be deserting their post.

Simply wait a few days/week, whatever and then leave with a semblance of respect to your comrades and the alliance to which you swore your allegiance.

    Common sense, respect and integrity.

  11. marvelous issue

by the third page, i have a feeling half of these things will be said:

    1.Screen shots are rigged

    2. screen shots are old

    3. you misspelled someones name

    4. you got someones rank wrong

    5. you are irrelevant

    6. moldavi poses no threat

    7. the issues you describe are anomalies and do not represent the general attitude of NPO

    8. o/ NPO

    9. those logs are pointless

All o/ my debut appearance in TWiP! o/ NPO!

    1. Screen shots (of log) are good.

    2. Screen shot (of log) is new/fresh.

    3. Names in logs look to be spelled properly.

    4. Rank?... Is that a foul smell?

    5. Schatterman is not irrevelant, he is entertaining.

    6. Ivan Moldavi has the ability to pose a threat.

    7. Represents my and more than a few other Pacificans general attitude toward deserters... I'm not a abnomaly, I'm a... I'm many things, too many to bother typing them all out.

    8. o/ NPO! (thats twice)

    9. Not pointless, those logs served up much hilarity.

  12. While I don't consider my nation LARGE, at 8K Infra/27K+ Tech/48K+ NS, I maintain the following...

    22% Troops

    0% Tanks

    100% Air Force

Navy - 100% Aircraft Carriers, Destroyers & Landing ships.

    0% Cruise Missiles

    100% Spys

    100% Nukes, when in 5%.

There is no need to maintain GCs in peace time, unless you maintain 100% troops and perform swaps.

  13. My Order, my Pacifica, always standing strong, together and indomitable! o/

Nice work comrades, getting the message to the masses.

    ...................................

    My 1st 1st :P

  14. Such as this makes me proud to stand tall as a Pacifican, it puts a bit more swagger in my strut and my crowing is that much louder!

As a retired member of NPO MilCom and having directly adjudicated a few RPC cases, I can say that NPO diplomacy works.

"Speak Softly and Carry a Big Stick" Roosevelt had it right.
