It was so close to dying you couldn't just let it go.
No one is innocent but this whole tiff was started by a member of Gramlins (one who actually like a great deal which saddens me) so how about we listen to Boon and plasmo and let this thread be what it should be which is people wishing the Gramlins well in their new sphere.
It was dragging on and putting a damper on an Aqua whose tank just got a little more full.
Most of us know the reasons and the circumstances surrounding the move, I saw the argument coming out of non-Gramlin's members and Green member's posts, and then developing into the past two or three pages.
It's in the past, I hope.
This move was apparently deemed necessary, and I wish everyone involved the best.

As crappy as Terry's diplomacy may be, we all know this is not a public service announcement or an attempt to aid Illuminati members at all. This is an entire thread based around mocking and flaming Terry and in turn the Illuminati. I'm surprised the thread is still open. At very best this is an entire thread of flamebait.
On another note. No matter how deplorable you think a person is, posting private peace negotiations in public is bad form. Either conduct them completely in public or completely in private.
Correct me if I'm wrong, I believe this thread is stating that Terry has made it impossible to conduct such negotiations, private, or public. What I've gathered from this thread is that NATO is trying its hardest to bring peace to the nations of Illuminati, and to expose their leaders unbecoming actions during the negotiations. It's a straightforward ploy. Should others realize Terry's negotiating skills, (or lackthereof) some members might move to depose him, or several members of the community might find this evidence sufficient to sack Terry and carry on negotiations with someone else. It also may force Terry to make negotiations immediately.
From my two cents, if you're unwilling to deal with criticism and cheap shots, never be on the defensive side of the fence.
I understand how this probably went, you have to ignore the cheap shots and the random gargling of others, and listen to the only voices that matter throughout the situation. If you have a problem with how it was conducted, provide your evidence elsewhere. I just see a bunch of No U! in this thread.
tldr; from this whole thing, Terry, you better hurry, your opportunity window for peace has about a day or two on it.

But most likely not the best way to earn peace (if you even want it at this point). If you had convincing evidence that this was the mistake of one bad apple, then speaking to IRON privately, kindly asking for any way to get out of the war, would have been the best option. Not sure what you hope to accomplish by publicly proclaiming "HEY WE SHOULDN'T BE BEING ATTACKED"; you're already being attacked. Trying to win a PR war doesn't do much for you guys at this point.
I think it's pretty obvious that their evidence is credible that lurking was a one man spy team, if any spying occurred. It's up to the orders and Iron if they want to give up a tech farm or not . Why not put the spotlight them in that situation?

Why don't you apply to an alliance that hasn't banned and attacked you?
That wouldn't be fun.
The politics in NATO are set so that everyone has a voice, whereas in other alliances that is not always true.
You weren't around Duncan, but I was overcritical of our government, in essence, too loyal.
My loyalty to the alliance has never been questioned, I have history with this alliance and the game wouldn't be fun if i was just another nation slaving away under a giant tag such as NPO, or IRON. To make an impact, NATO is just the right size, and always has been, and always will be.

It's been a long time since we've rocked and rolled.
For those at NATO who don't know, I am the infamous IYIyTh.
Recntly, I lost interest in the game and have only come on at update to collect n forget, but one night i decided to do something silly. I decided to try out this new fangled spy system, and picked the first person on my list to try it on. Just so happened it was another NATO member. Yep, epic fail, right?
Anyway, i was happy with how the legal system was going and glad to see there was some sanity left in the government, whereas if a member could defend themself, and could avoid a flame contest with the accuser, they would receive a fair shake.
Basically for all my transgressions in the past, I'd like to apologize. I'm not talking Jesse Jackson apologize, just straight up. This is not limited to or in event of the recent position i was in, just thought I'd make peace. There are good guys in NATO, and most fight for what is right.
I'm not asking for mercy, or to let me stay, because I doubt the damage I've caused can be repaired. (As for Pollexter, I don't know what I said but aparently it pissed you off deeply, pm me here about it.)
I'll probably end up as a normal member with a weak nation on the forums in the summer, but i won't be half as critical as i was, although i must say, it helped a plethora developing my argumentative skills.

I never suggested there should be no community, I was just cluing you in about your "irrelivancy"
so if everyone who wasn't irrelevant affected by this OP already knew about it, then there was no purpose.

Without a community the politics become pointless.
I'd hope alliances care about P.R., as from what i can tell, this is what this post is literally geared to gain.
But i wouldn't expect you to understand, seeing as you spend more time pointing out "irrelivancies" rather than contributing.

You bomb when you tech raid?
If one does choose to tech raid, it should cause the least amount of destruction possible -- just taking tech. Cautious attacks only, no cruise missiles or air strikes.
Bombing doesn't help you steal tech, it just destroys infrastructure...
It does set an example for persons who don't understand that bringing it here doesn't help.
